We started with Kanban Tasks, a Kanban board inside Gmail. We’re now launching Sales CRM, a lightweight CRM in the Gmail sidebar that starts from Google Contacts.

We’re also working on Tooling Studio MCP (private early access), which lets MCP-compatible AI assistants connect to Tooling Studio and take actions in your Tasks and CRM using plain language.

Why am I building something for Google Tasks?’

So here is my full take
I love the simplicity of Google Tasks, but let's be real—it's got a few quirks.

Here are just some of the pain points I noticed:

Lack of Sophisticated Hierarchy or Task Dependencies

Ineffective Collaboration Features

Absence of Integration with Other Apps

Poor Search Features

Limited Customisation for Power Users

Fueled by these pain points, I've taken matters into my own hands. Those Google Workspace power users exploring alternative solutions with additional capabilities, stay tuned. I’m almost launching!

A Kanban Space Extension Integrated with Google Workspace

Building a task management software with great features and flexibility was my goal when I started building my product, https://tooling.studio/. It is a Kanban Space extension integrated with Google Workspace.

It enables easy viewing and management of your Google Tasks on a Kanban Board. It facilitates the creation of multiple boards, sharing the boards with your teammates, and dragging and dropping of your tasks.

Prepping for the beta release of Tooling Studio...

Almost a month into building Tooling Studio - a Chrome extension to manage Kanban view using Google Task feature API. I’m happy about my progress in completing all the basic functionalities of my MVP - Kanban Tasks.

As I'm gearing up for the beta release, I am selecting a group of test users within my network - valued connections, friends, and family! Simultaneously, I'll be integrating all the payment features to ensure a seamless launch.

I notice that as I just throw screenshot after screenshot in ChatGPT, it’s a great brainstorming partner.
