60 sign-ups & 8 paying customers in 5 minutes

Earlier this month we ran a soft launch of our keyword grouping tool, KeyClusters (https://keyclusters.com/).

Here's how we got 60 sign-ups and 8 paying customers in 5 minutes.

Step 1. We clearly identified who are target audience is. KeyClusters is a keyword grouping tool for agencies, consultants and solo SEO geeks.

Step 2. We created a list of places where SEOs hangout (Facebook and LinkedIn groups primarily).

Step 3. We wrote a "non-salesy" piece of copy and recorded a short educational video on the power of keyword grouping and how KeyClusters shortens the keyword research process by hours if not days. Here's the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePmRbwp4Abk

Step 4. We posted these messages into three large SEO Facebook groups, and then stimulated the algorithm by liking and responding to all comments.

Voila!

Within 5 minutes we got 60 sign-ups and 8 paying customers.

Not bad for a micro SaaS we had no intention of commercialising.
