Guitar Porn Weekend (Day 457)

Took some time off during the weekend. Watched USA Basketball friendly, and tried out some restaurants in the city.

I actually spent most of my time watching guitar porn! Watched many videos from Darrell Braun Guitar YouTube channel. Learned what his "essential" guitar collection includes.

I've also learned the history of Gibson Les Paul--why the 1957, 58, 59 Les Pauls are special, read about the Gibson 335 and the B.B. King Lucille story, Fender Telecaster and Stratocaster histories, and watched footages about Ibanez, Paul Reed Smith Guitars, etc.

I've also read about the history of guitar pickups, watched YouTubers describing how different types of wood affects the tonal quality, and watched Kirk Hammett talk about how he inherited the history-rich Les Paul from Peter Green and Gary Moore, and how magically the Les Paul sounds better after restoring from a broken neck, etc.

Just concluded my weekend by watching the 2+ hr of Metallica concert performed in Mountain View, CA in 1989. That's the Metallica before their "Black Album". Their performances were raw yet powerful.

It makes me want to pick up my guitar and play more.
