Getting out of my comfort zone to publish my first video to Youtube

Hi guys,

One of the things I've struggled with most on my entrepreneurial journey is getting myself out there in front of others.

I'm sure (most?) of the developers here on IH and elsewhere can relate to the cardinal sin of tech entrepreneurship that I fall victim to time and time again:

building without speaking to anyone.

As a natural introvert, it's too easy for me to get buried in code and not take any time to speak to potential users or other founders. Which ends up with me building something for months without any feedback, and ultimately a waste of my time.

To try to break this bad habit, I've started creating content, on both my blog as well as my Youtube channel. Getting on camera is probably the scariest, because it's something new and uncomfortable to me.

So here's to getting out of your comfort zone!

The video is on how to create a landing page to collect emails using Carrd.

You can check it out here if you like :D

Well done, it definitely gets easier, but the first step is always the hardest!

You spoke very clearly and the tutorial was informative. Keep it up.

Great start! Video quality is fine. Things you could improve on: getting to the point more quickly (otherwise viewers will drop off), being a little more energetic & supporting the stuff you say with some typography/graphics to make it more engaging for viewers to watch. I know how hard it is to start something like this and have huge respect for that, keep going!

Thank you! Yup after watching I noticed that I tend to ramble a little lol. I’ll try to tighten that up in future videos. Also agree about the energy. Thanks for the constructive criticism!

Good job, doesn't look like your first video, in a good way.
Sound quality is mostly good, but some clicks/pufs once in a while..

This is very thoughtful and insightful, thank you.

In the end its just about 'just doing it' and getting in-front of the camera and practice.

^ This exactly. I went and watched your original videos and new ones, and honestly you seemed pretty comfortable from the beginning.

Thanks for the kind words, I'll definitely keep grinding. Good luck on the channel!
