I've always wanted to start a youtube channel, with my own name, and introduce myself as myself, teaching what I know best: to code.
I've just went ahead and got stuck in and put out my first quick coding tutorial on Javascript forEach loops.
Check it here and let me know what you think:

I'd appreciate a like and a comment (and even a sub) to help me get going!
Thanks!
hi Alan, congrats on your channel from a fellow Irish YouTuber. There's definitely a niche out there for coding with Irish accents!
I started YouTubing in April (I think) and it's been worthwhile. Although growth is painfully slow on a day-to-day basis, it adds up when you zoom out and compare numbers between months or even quarters. I reached 1660 subs today. Most of that growth from a combo of three things:
Hey mate 👏👏
Thanks very much appreciated! Your channel is flying, very nice! Gonna check it out after writing this.
Appreciate the advice and tips you've given here I'll definitely be taking these onboard going forward 😊 looking forward to getting more videos out there!

Awesome! This would also be a great post over in Learning To Code https://www.indiehackers.com/group/learning-to-code
If you're interested in doing an AMA, or office hours, or just a post there, I'd love to help coordinate :-)
Hey - thanks very much for pointing me in this direction - I'd definitely be up for doing that. Appreciate the support
Yay! I'll be in touch :-)
Look forward to hearing from you
Good voice quality that matters a lot.
I would link to a video and mention it on how to get your environment setup etc. A lot of beginners don't know.
I would also make sure you tell them 'WHY' they need to subscribe etc. Promise them something.
"Subscribe if you want a weekly coding video that covers the basics" something where you promise value.
Good luck and keep making videos!
Hi @joshdance that's brilliant advice thank you so much, I'll build upon in the next one's.
Thank you RE the voice quality. Bought an XLR condenser mic especially for this venture 😂
Great.. I was thinking of learning Javascript.. Will follow your videos.
@ray13 really appreciate that thanks very much. Expect another video tomorrow 👏🎙️
Leave a little comment on the video so I can connect with you there.
Good luck! I think the name of the game for you would be to rank when people search on YouTube...that's how I find 99% of video tutorials anyway :)
Ranked #6 when searching for "foreach loop javascript", among other search terms too!
Definitely man. I've used some good tags and keywords, done my research before hand, and i can see i'm on the first page-ish for javascript foreach loop which is good. So hopefully get some traffic and engagement
