August: A new markdown editor, with a focus on web publication. Looking for pre-alpha testers!

Hi all,

I've got a new markdown editor I'm working on that makes self-hosting and publishing to a website/blog super easy.

It's available for pre-order now (https://gumroad.com/l/getaugust), but I'm also looking for a few people who would be interested in pre-alpha testing the app. If you like creating lots of little sites, vi-like modal editing, markdown editors, writing, etc, and you use a Mac, let me know! You'll get the app for free, and all of the updates will be available to you forever -- in return, I'd like to get your (preferably detailed) feedback on the tool.

I'll only need a couple of people, ideally people who do a lot of writing and web-content-creation, so if you're interested, please leave some info about your writing habits, whether or not you use vi/vim, etc below.

I'll send out the pre-alpha app in the next couple of weeks, and will likely have a follow-up solicitation around that time. So if you come to this thread late the first time around, you may still be able to grab it for free later :)

Here's a quick demo of what you can expect in terms of initial-publication: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7b4qq_Bt8BQ

Site, copy, etc is all still very much in a pre-alpha state, but I would also be interested in hearing what people think of the offering/pricing/etc.

This is a great suggestion. Seems like a match made in heaven.

I don't know anything about micro.blog, but I'll definitely look into it :)
