Fish Fight! (Day 606)

Have you joined the NFT gaming trend?

Sol Fish is a project created by my buddie--an ex-Zynga architect (Mafia Wars)--who first introduced me to Ethereum and Solidity. He ultimately led me to my first crypto job. Years later, I introduced him to Solana! 😂

Non-crypto people may wonder what the real use of NFTs is.

There are many.

Other than the proof-of-ownership, digital art, NFTs can also be used for "token-gating" -- a fancy way of saying "whitelisting." My hackathon project Molecule Protocol is an example of this use case.

NFTs can also be used for gaming. Instead of gaming platforms controlling the game economy, NFTs allow users to own and freely trade their game items. In 2018, I built the first crypto-gaming NFT marketplace smart contract that connects with O.G. projects like Mythereum, Crypto Dungeons, and the most famous crypto gaming project Axie Infinity which has reportedly sold over USD 1 billion worth of NFTs.

Solana's fast block time and low transaction cost enable excellent user experiences. Sol Fish is built on Solana, and check out the demo here! https://youtu.be/X_-4b1AlvqE
