Hey Vlad 👋 Thanks for sharing your journey, I'll follow it.

This bi-modal format (writing + video) is really appealing to me 🙂

When it comes to Soft Reminders, what are your thoughts about similar solutions to this problem?
For instance, for me, the standard calendar app (like Apple's one) does the right job already (customizable reminders, sharing events between devices/accounts).

@vsupalov one more question, do you have 2 OS (Ubuntu + OSX) installed on your Mac? How does it work for you?

      1. 2

It's two machines :) I prefer a big one for coding - Linux feels most natural to me there. The tiny Macbook has been my favourite tool for everything else, where performance isn't as important. But mostly because of the hardware, not the OS.

Thanks Raf! Nice to read :)

I'm trying to tackle the anxiety of having to check the calendar a few weeks ahead regularly. "What if I'm missing something, better check" is exhausting. Always have this feeling with conventional calendars.

I haven't done much research to be honest, because "just building a thing" is one of the goals I'm looking for. Uniqueness or even a positive market analysis aren't requirements for me in this case.

        Interesting :)
Overthinking can lead to analysis paralysis. You're acting on your idea so that's already a good sign.

Have you thought of alternative clients for your application? I mean providing an API instead/besides a standard GUI client (I think there's reminders API product already on the market).

        One of the obvious use-cases:
Imagine someone building an app for appointment scheduling, with such integration, they can fully outsource the reminders feature.

It can! I skipped that part, and landed at overthinking legal requirements around it. One step forward...

I haven't. That's a really interesting spin on the idea. That would be taking it further than "we send your transactional emails" and going straight to "we got the complete reminder thing". Could be a cool no-code tool integration? Not sure.

Two suggestions to improve the video:

    1. Turn the background music down so that it's barely audible or remove it.
    2. Make sure your voice is at the same volume throughout the video.

There were large parts of this video where I couldn't understand what you were saying because the background music was too loud relative to the volume of your voice.

Thanks for viewing and the feedback Rich! That'll go straight to my quality checklist for the next one :)

I subscribed and I'm looking forward to the next one.

Thanks again for the suggestions! I integrated them into the second part. One step towards higher production value.

A snapshot of my current progress of launching a first SaaS, mixed with impressions from a day of building.

I'm currently searching for a medium which feels right for me. This video got very close to capturing the vibe I'm looking for, but also conveying interesting information.
