Hi IH,
I've created my first YouTube video which is a little intro video to Crash Catch and myself so if you were to check out the live streams of the development (twitch.tv/boardy89) you could check out the intro video first so you have some idea of what its all about.
Let me know what you think - I'm 100% certain its not the best - its pretty clear I'm not overly comfortable talking to myself into a camera lol but no doubt I'll get more used to it 😀
You can find the video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OcBsT2_tCQ
Let me know what you think, if I'm missing something or could be improved in some way I might see if I can re-do it or add another video.
Thanks
First off. Congrats on having the courage to record and post!
I don't think they're huge issues, but if you looking for feedback -- here are the two things I'd recommend.
I see you have a Mic and a pop filter (great step), but the sound quality seems off. I would run through a few settings, setups or post editing to see if you can improve the sound somehow.
It mainly looks like you are reading from a script. I think it's perfectly fine to check your notes, but probably better to speak more casually and look into the camera when you aren't actively coding.
Again, major kudos for posting and taking that step!
Thanks for the feedback. You're right that was my thought on the start where its obvious I'm reading a script and doesn't seem natural.
The audio isn't great for some reason, not sure if its because the mic needs to be nearer to me - was trying to avoid it being on display too much or getting in the way. The sound is slightly better than originally recorded but had to boost the volume in the editor which is why there is a bit of an annoying hiss.
I wouldn't worry too much about the Mic placement. Here are a couple people I follow and their Mic placement is pretty close to them.

That's good to know, have to find a place to put it that's not going to get in the way of a monitor or my arm as I'm typing - don't want to keep bumping into it.
