20 Subscribers

Thanks to friends, family, and hacker news, I now have 20 subscribers. It's really exciting to see other people who are interested in developer productivity. I'm looking forward to sharing ideas with them and seeing them grow as developers over time.

    Congratulations.

My board might help, it's 100 ideas for your first 100 users: https://board.first100users.com/

Here's some ideas I think could help

    • Feature influencers in the space, tag them in your social posts for a re-share
    • SEO your previous editions and post them online
    • Consider small, highly targeted Twitter paid campaign (followers of x)
    • Create an ecosystem mapping and reach out in relevant communities
    • Create a lead magnet (top tips, curated list, survey results etc) in return for joining
    • Ask every new subscriber their biggest challenge in your welcome email - explore that content
    • Ask other mailers to promote your lead magnet and do the same for theirs
    • Monitor twitter conversations for people talking about dev productivity, tweet your link
    • Reach out to established leaders in this space on linkedin and ask if you can
    • Landing page thoughts
      ** Measure conversion
** Make it clear what they will get (email grab) and how often
      ** Make it clear there's one-click unsubscribe
    • Attend digital hangouts in this space, refer to your mailer gracefully
    • Ask existing subscribers to 'pass it on'
    • Engage anyone with an audience to share it / feature in it
    • Email anyone / thing you feature in the mailer who may have reach

    @codefaster Hope it's useful
