$0-100k in 10 months with Webflow productized service. AMA.

Hey everyone, I'm a co-founder of Flowout - a Webflow productized service.

We've launched in May 2021 and have generated more than $100k in revenue without paid advertising.

Ask me anything :)

What have you done to generate leads?

    1. 2

A mixture of cold outreach and posting in different online communities like Webflow Global on Facebook.

Now, we're working to set up different funnels - paid advertising, social media, SEO, content, etc.

I recommend this book by Robin Vander Hayden, it was super helpful for us at the beginning: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lEBAekTNp52zeQbkscwALkNSeNSpN-G_spy8QzukASA/edit#

        Link doesn't work for me.

Can you share the author + title?

          1. 2

Their link is broken. Once you fill the form you receive an email, but the Drive link is broken. Can you please upload it to any file share system and share it here. It sounds as an excellent piece of information!

Love that. Productized services for the win!

    Nice, that's an amazing result.

One thing I always wonder about No-Code designers is: is your background in design or programming? Or are you just really good at using the tools?

    1. 1

I personally have 8+ years of design experience, and my co-founder Žiga has just as much of front-end development experience, so our in-house team consists of designers & developers we personally vetted or have worked with before. For Webflow, we hire front-end engineers; we found that most requests require quite some custom coding or various integrations that typical Webflow designers aren't able to code themselves.

      1. 1

        All bases covered then!

@LukaMlakar - I'm running a technical assessments site and we're going to be switching from selling static pdfs to something similar to https://leetcode.com/problemset/all/ do you recommend building this in web-flow, custom build, or something else?

Thank you! You're my inspiration. I want to be at $100k/MRR by May of 2023.

  5. 1

@LukaMlakar how much time do you assign to each task, is there a hard limit.

I want to start a mobile app UI design service, could not figure this part out.

    1. 1

There's no limit, we will work on a task as long as it takes to get it done. All the tasks in the queue that we haven't managed to do will be then carried over to the next month.

  6. 1

How do you manage your time? Since your plan is unlimited, what happens if a client asks you to work on hundreds of tasks at the same time?

    1. 1

We work on one task at a time.

Clients can still submit as many tasks as they'd like to our dashboard - the tasks are delivered one after another.

  7. 1

We are in early alpha and wanted to reach out to early users and feedback for our product at https://vadelabs.com/
Would be a great help if you can help in this?

  8. 1

Do you find that your client specifically ask for a Webflow site or could you do the same thing with Wix or Squarespace, assuming that they have the same design flexibility as Webflow.

    1. 1

Yes, we're focused only on Webflow.

      1. 1

I'm sorry, my question was confusing. Let me reword it.

Do your customer's care if it is a Webflow site or do they just want a site.

        1. 1

Interesting question, and also does customer's really care about the design?

          1. 1

Yes, I the customer cares about the design and overall end result. But would they care if was made in Webflow.

So another way to ask the question is:

Are Webflow agencies fighting for the same customers as a Wordpress agency and HTML/CSS agency?

Impressive numbers and your work looks solid.

How do manage each client's queue?

What does your tech stack look like?

    1. 1

      Thank you!

      We're using Manyrequests: https://manyrequests.com/

      Our current tech stack:

      • Webflow for the website,
      • Calendly to schedule calls
      • Stripe for payments
      • Manyrequests as a client portal
      • Slack for communication

    Luka!

Joe here. I used to run WP Buffs. We grew with no advertising as well.

Cool seeing other productized services out there for platforms other than WordPress.

    Two questions...

    • No advertising, eh? That begs the question...what marketing channels have driven your growth?
    • Any thoughts on what your end game is? Keep growing? Sell eventually?

    Thanks for posting 🤜🏽 🤛🏽

    1. 1

      Hey Joe!

First of all, thank you for your kind words, means a lot coming from an OG. Following your journey with WP Buffs was one of the main inspirations for us to start this business.

      To answer your questions:

      • The most successful marketing channel for us at the beginning was, strangely, niche Facebook groups

      • For now, the plan is to keep growing, we haven't really been thinking of what's the end game. We probably should :)

      1. 2

The most successful marketing channel for us at the beginning was, strangely, niche Facebook groups

Cool! I can't bring myself personally to do any marketing on FB but I know how powerful those groups can be when approached correctly. Nice!

For now, the plan is to keep growing, we haven't really been thinking of what's the end game. We probably should :)

        Whatever. Enjoy the ride! 🤸🏽‍♂️

We do have an acquisition unit at WP Buffs if you ever do consider joining forces with a bigger company. We're looking to branch outside of WP in the future so something like this makes sense from our POV. No pressure! Just keep us in mind moving forward if you start considering this option.

      2. 1

may I know the words you are using to outreach in niche facebook groups? I've been doing it for months but doesn't move any needle

Very interesting to see Brett's DesignJoy vibes. Congratulations man! <3

    Amazing!

    I was wondering though:

    I saw a package:
    "Design & Webflow"
    $4500/month

    • Unlimited requests
    • Unlimited revisions
    • Unlimited projects

    If I deliver 100 websites/day (e.g. ~3000/month),
this package would be sufficient and you would be able to deliver it?

    1. 2

      Thanks Justin!

You can add as many requests in your queue as you like - the tasks will then be delivered one after another.

Congrats, the project looks awesome! My couple of questions:

    A. Most of you users are working with you a couple of months, or indefinitely? More for the "design" or the "development"?

    B. What is you tech stack internally?

    C. What's your target client? Your pricing is pretty high. What are the main countries and type of companies you serve?

    Cheers!

    1. 1

      Thank you!

A: Most of our clients came to us for both design & development.

B: Webflow for the website, Calendly to schedule calls, Stripe for payments, Manyrequests as a client portal, Slack for communication.

C: We're mostly working with growing startups from US.

So for cold outreach, I'm using Streak CMS for Gmail and Snov.io.

I built an email list by doing a couple of things:

      • Launching on PH;
      • Scanning LinkedIn and job boards to find companies that already have a need for our services;
      • Manually reaching out to people on social media;

Not sure how many emails we've sent in total, but I'd say around 500 - 1000. I'm always sending emails one by one, no mass campaigns, and I try to personalize it as much as possible.

      1. 1

Have you launched Flowout at PH? I thought it's for products only. What were the results?
