Hey guys,
Long time lurker, second time poster. 3 months ago I got tired of my banking UI dev job (very well paid, very dull) and decided to make a plunge into indie game development. I decided to start working on mobile games initially only - and went for Unity as it's the most popular. For a former Javascript Developer picking up C# is not too hard tbh. Pure JS is chaotic world with types all over the place and when you get used to it you think that typed languages are a pain and a half. But since I made the switch I have to admit C# has so MANY advantages over good old JS and types are one of them. I am loving the visual aspect of working with Unity dev environment - I would say for a mid-weight developer in any language / tech you can jump right in and a LOT of stuff will be making sense. I do recommend doing some quick course to get to know all the nooks and crannies first - it speeds development up once you go through the most used patterns a few times while doing a course. I went for a $14 course on udemy. I am happy to write more about my journey from banking dev to indie game dev - if anyone is considering making a switch!
It took me about 2 weeks to do a Udemy course in Unity and about 4 weeks to learn some more skills and build and test the game.

My first effort so don't expect anything mind blowing but so far feedback has been decent.
I wanna share some promo codes for free downloads for early testers among my IH friends - if anyone is interested, please give me a shout out. Posting 5 free codes here and more on private message if these get used!
