No worries
This is awesome Olly, also subscribed to the newsletter. Thank you so much for sharing!
So funny, I own first100.com. 3 month course that met three times a week for people that wanted to spend $10K and build out their MVP's to use my course to figure out how to get their first 100 users with a landing page and a manual way to do their idea first. Great minds think alike friend.
What happened to it? It seems like an awesome idea and quite similar to first100users.com. I don't think I've seen your platform before, but if I did thank you for inspiring me!
Well - I got General Assembly to cross promote with me so we did have people signup. But it kind of was the same thing (I've tried alot of idea's in the space of building small versions to test idea's as opposed to the full thing) - everyone eventually gave up or tried overbuilding. At the end of the day you people (including me) are going want to try to build everything IMO.
Found it https://startupdevelopmentinstitute.com/first100/. Checked out RoastMyLandingPage and I like it - very cool concept - I think the only holdback to me doing it is I pay to get people to tear apart my landing page? I get that already everytime I post an ad lol. BUT - so I just launched this landing page www.tryjobscout.com - a whole lot of shit was wrong with it but I just wanted to ship it. After getting the feedback I did the following
$40 to copywriter to take the essence of what I wanted and redo it into better writing
Graphic Designer is redo-ing all the graphics for $25/hr - probably be $75
A front end developer is fixing all the glitches - probably $35
What if you had professionals roast it from different angles; copy, UI, graphic design, etc. and then their roasts get into a tag bubble, the landing page creator pays $200 BUT they can choose to fix XYZ in the tag bubble and offer part of the $200 to the people who made the comments. Its not just people roasting who dont know shit but people roasting who can fix it. Dude I BELIEVE IN THIS IDEA. Hit me up if you want to spin this up! Probably take a night (probably 2)
I really like it, thank you for these resources
No worries. If I could make one new useful resources what would it be?
It would be super, also can you make some resources about finding project ideas like that?
Sweet resource, have some issues scrolling to the right on a 1366px screen
Ah strange. It's a Notion page though, so I don't think I can control it.
Board design is messed up, 19 columns is set but 5 or 6 is visible on the screen and others are out right somewhere. Hold ctrl and scroll down to see all columns, on 30% they are all visible but not readable.
Yeah I just right scroll... that is how Notion works natively. It's not in an iframe or anything like that.
Have not visited yet but already seems useful.
This is one thing I only got recently: [Be consistent. It's a marathon not a sprint.]
Haha! No worries, hope it's useful.
