Looking for a tech co-founder (golfer desired)

Hi guys,

I am looking for a skilled tech co-founder for www.birdiefit.com.

The app is just below $100 MRR with some customers who have been on the platform for the last 17-18 months.

If you are interested, read the Google doc. All the details are inside.

Thank you
Luka

    A genuine question:
You're currently generating less than $1200/year, so even with a (VERY) generous multiple, your platform is worth about $18,000 (I used a 15x multiple, which is unheard of for your field, given the current stage, pricing, etc.). You're looking for (I assume) a more than reasonable SWE—i.e., someone who actually knows what they're doing and is past their student/intern days—since the work you're specifying involves different fields and "specialties" (frontend, mobile, backend, etc.). However, you're offering up to 20% (so around $3600, give or take) if the person who joins will essentially redevelop your current solution, plus your entire roadmap (mobile app and some other things).

Now, I'll take the biggest equity unlock according to your Google Doc, which is a maximum of 5% for developing a mobile app. Based on the multiple above, and assuming the company isn’t going to explode to $1 million/year next year (I'm assuming a year is more than enough to cover the listed tasks), you're basically assuming someone will develop a full-blown mobile app for... ready? $180 USD. This is honestly not even a daily salary for a capable SWE in North America (since developing a mobile app from start to finish will likely take at least a month, you're effectively offering a yearly salary of $2160 USD). By the way, this is also way less than what you’d expect for an offshore developer—at least someone who actually knows what they’re doing.

And now for the question: why would someone who knows their way around code seriously consider your offering?
As an avid golfer myself and as a SWE for the past 15 years, I really can't see the upside of investing a few months of my time (which translates into money, at the end of the day) for a current payday that’s not even equivalent to a week’s salary in exchange for something that maybe—maybe—maybe might grow into a payday at some point in the future.

Now, although that might sound like I'm bashing you, I really am not. I'm trying to understand: assuming you're in charge of the "business" part, would you join a side hustle that is generating $1200/year, asks you to go to conferences, do sales, build a pipeline, write a business plan, "spend enough time with the company," and a bunch of other bells and whistles, for $3600?
Might be something to consider if you're serious about bringing in a technical founder.

Since the scammer decided he don't like folks on IH calling out on his scam.
I'm attaching a screenshot of "the offering" (if you can call it that..)
Developers - please do yourself a favor and don't undervalue yourself to the extent of 20% from an app that doesn't even make $100 a month...if you really want to be scammed online there are better ways to do that...

      That's cheap thinking.

You could have built a mobile app by the time you wrote your comment

Giving a 20% equity in a golf app for someone who would literally DO ALL THE WORK, and I'm cheap?
LOL, good luck with the sucker you're looking for.

        1. 1

Yes, you are cheap and besides that you are also entitled to your own opinion.

          1. 1

You're cheap and look to scam someone into doing the work for you and get nothing...
Post this to your twitter scammer :)

get in touch with test account credentials, I think I may be able to help but need to see what you have up and running at the moment (contacts in profile).

Writing you an email right now!..

      1. 1

Got an empty email with an empty attachment "winmail.dat", ZIP it if you are going to be sending files.

        1. 1

I closed my laptop after hitting send. Maybe that explains it. Didn't include any files. Let's chat after New Year's

          1. 1

Lol you're pathetic and a scammer post this as well LMFAO.
Dude you're offering 20% for someone to do all the work for you.

            1. 1

I just realized, there is no win-win scenario with you

            2. 1

I'm doing my own thing while you're too deep invested in everyone else's business because you have nothing going on for yourself. That's to say the least about your absence of character and naivety. And if you weren't such a beggar I would have reconsidered my offer by now. Like this, I know better than to negotiate publicly with an ill-mannered troll like yourself. I'm curious to see how much more of an idiot you can make of yourself. Go on
