Hello hackers! đź‘‹
The last week I watched this video about how the dopamine works in our brain, and some tricks to become more productive: Consuming less time into activities with high dopamine but without long term benefits (check social media accounts, watch Youtube for hours, etc.) and spend more time in low dopamine activities but more beneficial for us in the long term (study, read, work in our side projects, etc.)
I found this video very interesting, so I decided to build a simple webapp to test this method in my self. And... surprisingly it's working very well.
With this app, you can start a timer when you are working and you'll earn some "⚡ dopamine points" that you can spend on YouTube, social media, or somewhere else.
So basically for every 60 minutes of low-dopamine-work you get 15 dopamine points to spend in your favourite and non-productive high-dopamine-activities. Every dopamine point equals 1 minute. I think it is an interesting concept to balance working and enjoyment time.
You can check Dopamine here: https://dopamine.netlify.app/
What do you think? Do you found it useful? I'm thinking in develop a native app or adding a few more features.
Thanks!
