3,000 customers of Google Sheet Tutorials

On Feb 15th, 2021 I wrote about approaching 2,000 members of Better Sheets.
In Sept, 2020 I wrote about being surprised by 1,000 members on a day I made $1,000.

What is Better Sheets?

Better Sheets is considered a "course" but it's so much more. It's tutorials, templates, google scripts, inspiration, community. People buy access to Better Sheets because they want to get more out of Google Sheets. They want to go deeper and are tired of googling for everything and sometimes coming up short. Sometimes not knowing the exact words, phrases to google for can be frustrating.

But you know what's more frustrating? Not even knowing you can even try to do something. Better Sheets includes inspiration and done-for-you templates, sheets. I encourage Better Sheets members to also join in the selling sheets aspect. Many members have posted their own sheets on Gumroad and Appsumo Marketplace. The community of sheet makers is growing as well as the members who use Google Sheets in their daily life, daily work and wish to go beyond sheets.

Today's Milestone

Today is December 31st 2021 and I've surpassed 3,000 members.

I sell Better Sheets membership via Gumroad but primarily via AppSumo. Today over 95% of sales are through AppSumo Marketplace.

So what happened this year?

I can point to 4 needle moving events.

• February: Raised Membership Price from $19 to $49
• May: Featured in Mashable and Business Insider
• July: 72 Hour sale via AppSumo. I wrote about here.
• September: Raised All Membership Price $49 to $59

Looking through the sales numbers during those months vs other months I'd say those 4 events were attributed to 70% of the sales in the last 1,000 new customers. Of course each and every month there's a vast amount of other things going on to get the other 30%.

Outliers
Here are a few sales that I can see attributed via gumroad referrals.

1 sale via Gumroad Discovery.
1 sale via Google. I assume some search and then buy direct on gumroad.
5 via Twitter.

How I Celebrate

Let's not kid ourselves. While our products are in service to customers. We wish each and every person who buys our products an incredible amount of prosperity and success.

But what do we do when we want to celebrate?

Here's how I'm celebrating.

I'm taking a full week at a fancy ass hotel.

I'm sleeping early on New Year's and going to go see the first sunrise.

Then throw out every weight loss resolution I've made in the last 10 years and order as much of my favorite food as I can imagine. While I sit my ass down and watch college football

Everything. All at once.

I won't order one pizza but three.

I'll order a couple of racks of pork ribs.

Not just one cookie, I'll order a cookie cake.
