A moment when I found myself competing against Andrew Wilkinson

I was busy building a new Gmail add-on when a friend of mine sent me a link to a thread written by Andrew Wilkinson. In his tweets, Andrew described a problem/solution I was working on.

The thread

Not the exact description of problem and solution but super similar.

So I found myself competing against a well-known business person who owns 20+ internet companies. (Read it as "he has huge experience".)

I was frustrated a bit. But on the next day, I decided to continue building my add-on and launch it faster than my new competitor. We both did a bid on the problem, but my solution was native for Gmail users. Silent Inbox works inside Gmail. Andrew decided to build it as a standalone solution.

Silent Inbox

And today the add-on is live on Product Hunt. That means the first version of the product is publicly available.

Silent Inbox is a bouncer inside your Gmail. It holds back emails that are not urgent and delivers them at the time you are ready to read them. Just when you drink your morning coffee or 5 o'clock tea.

Go check it out, if you are distracted by unimportant emails during the day.

Looking forward to your feedback.

I was making this for myself in the first place. So didn't notice an energy drop when Andrew tweeted. Thanks for your support!
