Over the summer I was working with my local council, and for one of the events, we decided to hire a small local band. This was amazing because I go to an art school and every third person there is a musician, of course not all of them are good but there are some gems in there. I came across an amazing small band that had a beautiful catalogue of music. So we decided to hire them, and while being the middleman between the council and the band, we got in a conversation where I discovered that this was their first-ever paid gig, because finding gigs was excruciatingly hard. I found that quite interesting because it was the same deal with other venue and event managers, they found finding local bands and musicians quite a chore as well.
We went through the event and in the end, we discovered that the band did not have an ABN which would not have been a problem if we weren't a council and had to document our every transaction. But after hassling tooth and nail, I found a way to get the band paid. This again got me wondering if there is a huge gap in the market for an application that acts as the middleman for events and bands. So after quite a lot of deliberation, I came up with an idea that does exactly that.
If you are a venue or an event organiser, or a musician/band, I would love to know if you would be interested in a project like this.
Hey dude - would love to talk about this - working on a similar idea.. sort of similar I guess. I found you via google search so similar enough. DM me! Can you do that on this platform?? This is my first comment if you can't tell...
Hey, lol I had forgotten about my account here. However, I am no longer working on this, but I would still love to be a springboard for your ideas
Hmmm.. how do I DM you? Find my company on Linkedin! @avianu. - I respond to all messages on there
Hey guys, I also started working on similar idea. I was just wondering why people have not created this already. So before starting to work on this, I wanted to know if there is a market for this and if the effort is even worth it. If anyone has insights please share. We can connect on LinkedIN
Cool! And they do exist. I made one locally called The Ledger in san diego - I can't post links, but you can search it. If you want to jump in and work with us, I'd be happy to bring you on. It was basiclly a side project that we've let sit around a bit. We were monetizing with ads, but wasn't life-changing and both of us have been doing other things.
