If you can't beat 'em...
A few days ago I came upon this article describing how Grammarly consistently declined after the release of ChatGPT:
Notice the 2023 graph. Grammarly's mobile revenue reacted and started dropping roughly 10% every month. By July, revenue dropped to where it was a year prior. All of Grammarly's growth disappeared.
In August Grammarly started making a push to highlight its AI and improved its offering which helped push revenue up to May's level. Still not great, but better than dropping.
Lesson: If can't beat 'em, add 'em to your feature set.
The irony is that Grammarly is AI to the bone, arguably of the same level of sophistication as ChatGPT.
Their software is literally machine learning algorithms for text improvement. So it's not the "Add AI or be killed by AI", but "market your AI or be killed by those who do"
Thanks for this great thoughts about Ai . Very interesting.
AI beyond content is unproven. And content includes chatbots.
AI is the new Gold Rush. Of course, everyone needs to be on it.
this is going to be an AI vs. AI world.
Adapting AI is the only sustainability in the near future.
Not sure I buy it in this case. Can you first explain why it jumped up in Winter '23? otherwise it's just normal steady progress upwards. A big drop after artificially-acquired users churn out (discounts/promotions) is also normal
But the thing is that ChatGPT does not have good grammar. There are many grammatical errors in the results
AI Development: AI is created and controlled by humans. The development of AI systems involves careful design, programming, and ethical considerations. AI systems do not have inherent intentions or motivations to harm humans.
Ethical Considerations: AI development should prioritize ethical principles, including safety, fairness, transparency, and accountability. There are ongoing discussions and efforts within the AI community to ensure that AI technologies are developed and used responsibly.
Automation and Job Disruption: While AI can automate certain tasks, it does not mean that it will inevitably lead to job loss or harm to humanity. The impact of AI on the job market and society depends on various factors, including how it is integrated into industries and how workforce transitions are managed.
Collaboration with AI: AI can be a powerful tool when used collaboratively with humans. It can enhance productivity, solve complex problems, and improve decision-making in various fields, such as healthcare, finance, and transportation.
Regulation and Governance: Governments and regulatory bodies are working on frameworks to ensure the responsible development and deployment of AI technologies. These regulations aim to protect individual rights and prevent misuse.
Education and Training: Preparing the workforce for the AI era involves education and training programs that help individuals acquire the skills needed to work alongside AI systems and adapt to changing job requirements.
lol, is this an AI generated response?.
