AI Marketing Tools: The Ultimate Guide In 2024

The two main pillars of building a startup are coding and marketing. Last week, we broke down how AI can accelerate your coding. This week, we're breaking down how AI can supercharge your marketing.

In this article, we'll dive into the AI marketing tools already on the market, discuss what's coming on the horizon, and finish with some thoughts on where you might be able to build.

The Current Market

The majority of marketing for Indie Hackers involves SEO, social media, ads, and outreach. Thankfully, there are AI tools for each category.

For SEO, we have tools that help with building your domain authority like:

  • ListingBott, which uses AI agents to list your website on 100 directories

  • QuickListing, which does the same but gets you into over 200 directories

  • PressPulse, which uses GPT-4 to source personalized HARO inquiries

Tools that make keyword research easier like:

  • Keyword Insights, which turns a seed keyword into thousands of curated keywords

  • Rankify, which generates keywords based on a description of your business and what you want to rank for

  • Swiftbrief, which handles your keyword research, keyword clustering, and content briefs

And tools that write your content like:

  • Cuppa, which can write a range of articles using information from the web, top SERPs, and Perplexity

  • Koala, which can write SEO-optimized content using GPT-4o and real-time data

  • Keyword Hero, which crafts content with the express goal of outranking your competitors

For social media, we have tools like:

  • AutoShorts, which fully automates your faceless video channel

  • BoostBot, which finds and reaches out to hundreds of influencers

  • CustomerPing, which lets you know when people are talking about a problem your business can solve

  • Vidyo, which makes short clips from your long videos

  • CopyCopter, which turns your articles into short videos

  • Olly, which generates posts in real-time as you scroll through social media

For ads, we have tools like:

  • Bestever, which creates visual ads in your brand's voice.

  • AdGen AI, which can generate hundreds of ads in just a few clicks

  • Creatify, which turns product links into video ads

  • Glato, which creates video ads with digital creator clones

And for outreach, we have tools like:

  • La Growth Machine, which personalizes your voice messages at scale

  • Humanlinker, which provides personalized prospecting

  • Openmart, which finds niche retail leads based on custom criteria

  • Meetz, which personalizes your outreach, sends automated follow-ups, and books meetings

The Frontier

You've probably noticed that all of these tools are really good at doing one specific thing. ListingBott gets you into directories, Rankify generates keywords, Creatify turns product links into video ads, and so on. This makes sense considering AI's current limitations, but as the technology advances with AI agents, it's likely that the tools will get a lot "wider" in the future.

In other words, these tools will be able to handle entire marketing funnels.

There aren't many tools like this yet because of how new the technology is, but one great example is SEOBot. Instead of just doing keyword research or content creation, SEOBot automates the entire process from keyword research to content creation to traffic analysis. The only thing founders need to do is press "start".

Another example is ReplyGuy. There are a bunch of tools like CustomerPing that can let you know when people are talking about your business, but ReplyGuy does that and automatically replies with a plug for your product. It's not hard to see how this can be expanded into a tool that replies, builds connections with potential customers, and books sales calls.

The Business Opportunities

If you have the technical ability, building a tool that uses AI agents to automate entire marketing funnels makes too much sense. It's low competition because of the technical it is, has a huge addressable market, is inherently sticky, and is just downright super cool:

  • Instead of a short video creator, build a tool that makes, publishes, and promotes your videos across Instagram and TikTok.

  • Instead of a tool that turns descriptions into ads, build a tool that makes the ads, publishes them, and automatically adjusts the spending according to the results.

  • Instead of a tool that personalizes outreach messages, build a tool that can find leads, reach out, book calls, and close sales.

However, even if you don't have the necessary technical skills, there are definitely still opportunities to build here.

One area is AI writing tools. More and more people want to use them, but the current options hallucinate often and still sound really robotic. If you're able to fix the hallucination issue (maybe with something like Lamini's Memory Tuning) and make the AI sound like an actual human, there's a real opportunity here.

Social media also looks promising. Everyone wants to be Levels or Marc Lou, but almost nobody has the will or skill to post like them. And although today's AI social media tools can save you time in converting your content into other mediums, they actually aren't all that good at creating original content. Creating a social media content creation tool that sounds like a human would be a layup if you can do it right.

You can rinse and repeat this exercise for any of the tool categories. The demand for these tools isn't slowing down anytime soon, and there will be plenty of opportunities to improve on the incumbents as the technology gets better. All you need to do is to keep up with the curve.

Great comprehensive guide on AI marketing tools! As someone who's been exploring this space, I really appreciate the detailed breakdown and categorization. The section on AI-powered content creation tools is particularly valuable, as it's becoming increasingly important for indie hackers to produce high-quality content efficiently.

I'd add that while these AI tools are incredibly powerful, it's crucial to maintain a human touch in our marketing efforts. AI should augment our creativity and efficiency, not replace the authenticity that connects us with our audience.

One question for the community: Has anyone here experienced a significant ROI boost from implementing any of these AI marketing tools in their business? I'd love to hear some real-world success stories or lessons learned.

Thanks for putting this together – it's definitely a resource I'll be bookmarking and referring back to as I continue to optimize my marketing strategy.

Don't forget Manychat, if your marketing strategy has instagram as a part of it, manychat is practically a must at this point.

Manychat's main innovation let's call it, is that you can comment a word, or answer to a story a certain word and then it automatically sends you anything. For example a link to a landing page.
