Hey Everybody,
Earlier today I launched PrivJs on ProductHunt. The post successfully got over 50 upvotes, but even after 6 hours it did not make it to the ProductHunt homepage.
It really did not make sense to me, so I reached out to the PH team regarding the same and politely asked them to feature the product on the homepage as it was doing much better than the products listed in the homepage. They replied within 5 minutes and soon PrivJs got featured on the homepage.
You can check out the product at: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/privjs
That's it. Just reaching out to the PH team helps get featured on the homepage!
Cheers!
This is so true. Has happened to me countless times. Good luck with the launch.
Good call, naive but great move!
I kind of like your project, too. Left an upvote!
Thanks mate!
Really?? I thought their algo was solid??
That whole site is coded poorly. Only the public facing pages look polished.

Good call - was talking with someone the other day who had the same issue.
That's great. I'm happy that i'm solving a real problem.
Awesome. Voted for you on PH.
Also, love the idea. All the best.
Thanks a lot mate. You're the best!
I came with a similar idea yesterday like this (not that I'm gonna build it). I think this is awesome especially if you can guarantee some good quality or security with it. For example all packages should have tests and maybe even mock objects you can use for your own tests.
yeah. will be adding it one feature at a time
Indeed, very valuable advice
Interesting data point, thanks!
@prasanna where did you reach them/contact?
There is a live chat option on their website (Crisp/intercom)
okay, thanks
So, this applies when you suspect that something is wrong with the PH featuring algorithm?
actually, you could politely ask them to feature the product in the homepage - that works too
good to know
Glad you reached out!
I think someone recently mentioned the entire first page is moderated. It makes sense as a defensive strategy against spam, but can be frustrating to legitimate posters.
Best of luck with the launch. How much traffic did you see from PH?
The traffic was not as much as expected - got about 150 visitors yesterday with over 1000 pageviews. I started getting more visitors today than yesterday (maybe because I got featured in the homepage quite late).
