How many of you use explanation videos of your products?

Based on my personal experience it's very hard to calculate any kind of effect of the video on sales. But it still plays a big role.

Because it makes your product look more polished, more stable and generally better.

Many people, myself including, have the logic of "if this is done well then everything else must be done well too" and the same goes for "if the site/video/whatever is bad then the product must be bad as well".

For this reason I tried to make a high quality explanation video to use on the site of my new upcoming service https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n617ZF-oT4

What are your thoughts on this? Do you make explanation videos for your products? How your experience has been?

Video is huge, especially for complex/higher-end products. I've seen a ton of case studies that show video can increase conversions 90%.

Your video looks pretty good and I'm sure will help a business understand your service.

That's actually nicely done. May I ask how much you ended up spending on this and what sort of results have you seen so far in terms of your ROI? This is something we've thought about but have stayed away from it since we're bootstrapped and in early stages.

The service hasn't launched yet. But I am already working on a solid experience for the user and SEO. The video is part of that. It was around ~4$k

Wow, looks super polished. I guess that's expected at that price point.

I got my done for $600, hope it doesn't show haha: https://vimeo.com/422564710

That's a cool product, love it.

I've just imagined a digital frame, you give a frame to everyone in your family, and you can choose what photo displays on it. That would be great

That video looks great! Did you make it yourself?

Another style of video that I personally like are quick walkthrough videos. DocParser and MailParser are successful businesses that do this.

I like them because they feel more personal and you can instantly see the product in action.

Yeah I plan to upload many more simple walkthrough and tutorial videos. This was supposed to quickly explain the service and make an impression with it's quality.
I also plan to have a screenshot in the header showing the service in action. So it should not be a problem
