Fastest way to build lander in 2019

Looking for suggestions to help my curb my intuition to make everything by hand. What's your favorite tool to crank out landers to test your ideas? The less code and configuration the better.

I basically tested every tool on the market 😀

In my opinion, these are the perfect combination between ease of use and good design:

    Unicorn Platform
    Landen

I’ve used Carrd.co recently, was super easy.

Same here. Easy and let's you iterate fast. Keeps you focused on the most important part: copy.

I'm working on this app for that exact need: https://www.vertex360.co.

What's different about Vertex from other site builders however (e.g. Wix, Squarespace, etc) is that the templates are launched as full Node/Express sites which can be redeployed somewhere else down the road (if you want). So if your site takes off and you need to customize it for greater flexibility and functionality, you can download the full source from Vertex 360 (.zip file), make your changes, then redeploy where ever you want - even right back on Vertex.

We're currently doing a ton of beta testing so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Love the ability to redeploy and download the source 👏🏻 will check this out

Thanks @thisdickie - we're still doing a lot of user testing and would love to get your feedback. Can we connect at some point next week if you have had a chance to try out Vertex?

    Great timing :)

I just soft launched Versoly, it is extremely quick to create and launch landing pages, all hosted by us on AWS.

The code is exportable in simple HTML (other editors can give back terrible code which can't be reused).

We are still building blocks and templates, so if you need any custom designs while using Versoly, I can get them built fast for you.

Also if you use Versoly or not remember to use #landing-page-feedback on posts, you will get great help from fellow IHs.

I am trying on Mobirise, has basic templates and can purchase other themes. You can upload via FTP to your hosting.

I hear great things about Webflow and Launchaco. Made my logo in two minutes on Launchaco.

I've used launchaco in the past to test some ideas. There is a free branded tier and $50/yr option.

It's not cheap, but I like Instapage. The pre-made templates are really good and the codeless build system is really good.

We launch a lot of landing pages, have tried out a bunch of platforms and ultimately have come back to wordpress. Here's one we launched a week or so ago - www.indibot.io

    Our landing page requirements are:

    • easy to setup
    • no custom code
    • lots of templates so we don't have to hire a designer
    • can integrate payments easily and free (deal breaker for us)
    • monthly cost < $20

Since we require payments on our landing pages, not having that feature is a deal beaker. My biggest qualm with all of these landing page platforms is they overcharge for a simple stripe integration. I'd be all for doing a rev share, but I've yet to see that offered. When I'm testing out an idea, I'd rather not have to pay for it before we have any sales.

    Our combo is:

    • Wordpress/Woocomerce Theme
    • Integrate stripe into woocomerce checkout
    • We host somewhere easy and cheap like siteground

We've got this down to this a science and can launch one of these in a couple days. That includes - theme, checkout/stripe, branding, analytics, live chat, google biz apps, hosted/ssl.

Interesting, I just checked the scores using https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https%3A%2F%2Findibot.io%2F&tab=mobile

      You got 22/100 for mobile.

If you're using WP you need to learn a lot more than using other services i have found.

Appreciate the feedback! Page speed is a part of our checklist, there are a couple things that I still need to do to get it higher.

No doubt though, wordpress comes with some negatives that require more manual work.

This is one of the downsides of hosting on shared, cheap hosting like Siteground. You'd get better performance by using a VPS at DigitalOcean or Linode. For $10.50 a month you could have DigitalOcean & Serverpilot and have a super fast site (that stack is built for speed)

          1. 1

Yeah, totally agree. I refuse to deal with server ops/setup for these small landing pages, but am intrigued by ServerPilot's ease and cost. I'll have to give it a go.

            Thanks!

I'm in the same boat, I tend to build everything from the ground up, which isn't a good use of my time. I've been investigating what would be a quick way to put out a landing page with the minimum amount of work.

I haven't used either of these, but am considering them:

Product Hunt has a product called Ship. It has a very limited free mode to check it out and costs around $60 a month, which seems a little pricey for what I'm doing right now. It has a large feature set around user engagement.

Designmodo has a web app to generate websites. It has a free mode where you can play around with it but if you want to export the website it costs $90 a quarter, so you could pay for one quarter and export several sites and cancel then deploy it with netflify or github pages with a custom domain. It doesn't have any user engagement tools so you would need to integrate a mailing list yourself.

I'm going to look around for another week or so before I'm ready for a landing page.
