Feedback for personal site

Hi guys,
Can you give me some feedback on my personal website?

https://www.nicolasracchi.com

It’s made with Gatsby, TailwindCSS and Contentful. Hosted on Netlify.
It’s been a very fun project!

Very cool and clean! Love the dark/light mode toggle 😄

Thanks Brayden! I really appreciate it :)

Hi! Great website! One thing you could do is optimize images. Running your avatar through TinyPNG reduces it's size by 76% without noticeable difference in quality. Have a great day!

Thanks for the advice! I’ve already tried to optimize it with photoshop but TinyPNG does a better job. Will update it shortly! 🙏🏻

    I like this a lot.

    Good

    • Nice photo
    • Projects look cool
    • Blog posts are interesting and well written
    • Simple website layout
    • Website design (some of the animations are glitchy, but overall nice)

    Could improve:

    • You immediately devalue yourself by calling yourself a "young student", if I didn't see that I would assume you are a professional. Let them find out later you are a student, give them a first impression that you're someone with expertise.
    • Not clear what you do ("I make apps and websites" or "Im writing about machine learning" would be good examples)
    • You should have a call to action somewhere in your about section ("contact me if you're looking for ______ "). You could put your newsletter signup here, etc :)

Thanks a lot Robert, this is exactly what I needed.
The first bullet point is really helpful. Come to think of it, it was a really bad choice to write "young student" on the bio.

I'm also going to add a call to action on the homepage pointing to my newsletter signup.

Thank you again for your time!

No such thing as "bad choices", only actions to learn from :)

The only thing that I found surprising was that the hamburger menu on the left opens a side menu coming from the right, they both should be on the same side.

Great tip, I'll move it to the other side. Thanks!
