Finding the best Quora questions to answer in 5 steps

Quora can be a good source of traffic but finding and answering questions can take a lot of your precious time.

So how do you 80/20 and answer only the questions that are actually worth it? Meaning: they rank high in Google and get at least a decent amount of traffic.

1️⃣ First, you'll need a Semrush account
Google 'semrush trial' and you'll find a bunch of affiliate sites offering a 30-day trial if you click through their link - otherwise, Semrush doesn't offer a trial at all.

2️⃣ After you sign up, go to Organic Research on the left
semrush organic research
3️⃣ Enter quora.com and hit search

4️⃣ Click the Positions tab

5️⃣ Add 3 filters:

  • Position: Top 10 (or 20 for more results)
  • Keyword: whatever is relevant to your product
  • Volume: >50 (change this depending on how competitive the keyword is)
    Imgur
💥What you'll get is a list of questions where Quora ranks high for keywords relevant to your product (and have at least decent volume).

Now open the question page from the URL column and add a valuable answer mentioning (and linking to) your product.

Good luck and let me know if anything's unclear ;)

How should you approach answering Quora questions to bring traffic to your website without coming off as completely self-promotional?

    1. 3

I like to think about it this way - if you can't provide any value to the thread, don't add your reply. So only after adding some value, you are allowed to mention your product/service.

@adamringhede Quora doesn't like redirected links. Of course, many platforms don't like it.

You need to interlink your answers in such a way that it creates a viral loop, I have also talked about this in my Quora Marketing Guide here.

Use links in your bio. Use Top performing answers in your bio. My answers have been sent to more than 20 million people, which also brought me tons of traffic.

I have also generated tons of leads via Quora. Its just that you should be able to use it tactically.

I hope this doesn't sound salesy to you lol, but my Guide on Quora has it all :D

If you are interested you can check it out here

Even if you don't, you can connect with me on Twitter. I will help you out :)

This is a great point. I have a ton of reach from my StackOverflow answers but always forget to optimize my profile to drive traffic to my site. Thanks for the reminder!

Yes, you should. Optimization is so important :)

Try adding a more valuable answer, which describes some tips, useful tools (provide a list of tools including your website), add a link to an informational article from your blog.

Any sites other than SEMRUSH where this is possible?

Free trial is only 7 days now and after that it's $99 a month :/

The tip was amazing though - thank you very much!!!

I don't think there any free tools that have such features tbh.

You can get a 30-days trial though - just check a couple of different sites.
