FirstBase: the easiest way to launch a US business entity

Hi Indie Hackers 👋, I figure a lot of folks here will be looking to create a business entity soon so I thought you'd be interested to learn about FirstBase, which makes it incredibly easy to create a C-Corp or LLC in the US, open a business bank account (with Mercury), and get a bunch of other business basics sorted...all 100% remotely. You can read more about it here: https://earnestcapital.com/firstbase-launch-a-us-company-from-anywhere/ or check out them out directly at firstbase.io. They made us a discount code "earnest" for $20 off the flat rate of $399. I'd love to hear any questions or feedback here too.

Very interesting service. I think this market is just starting to grow. More and more entrepreneurs just want to solve problem for customers and make money. Not handle bureaucracy.

Some questions, comparing having a US/Swedish company:
What's the annual corporate tax in the US? In Sweden it's 30%.
Is it required to provide some sort of start money in the company? In Sweden it's ~$5000.

21% for C-Corps, but it can get complicated (e.g., LLC is pass-through, so you might not need to pay any tax in the US, but only personal income tax in Sweden), not required any start money.

        Thanks for the answers!

I'd definitely recommend hopping into the chat on their site and asking any questions like this directly to the team. i doubt they can give you specific tax advice but are super knowledgeable and helpful.

Great, I'm just figuring out a few things related to this topic. How firstbase compare to Stripe Atlas?

Yep, touched on this briefly in the post. The tl;dr is they solve the same core problem of incorporating remotely. 1/ they have different processes. Atlas is application-only while FirstBase rejects only a tiny % of folks in certain countries and industries 2/ different partners. Atlas primarily uses SVB for banking whereas FirstBase uses Mercury Bank (we at Earnest have used both and really prefer Mercury). Atlas has a longer list of partner perks (eg AWS credits) at this point for sure. 3/ different support. FirstBase has an amazing responsive support team and offers support in Spanish, I can't speak to Atlas's support team. 4/ Relatively negligible price difference but FirstBase is $100 cheaper (or $120 with our code above).

Would suggest checking them both out and choosing the best one for you :)

The linked blog post discusses that.

The "Isn’t this just like…?" section while does not name Stripe Atlas it talks about it.
