Update from my SaaS Me project.
I posted a meme ad on Twitter and received engagement.
I was able to get 5 more subscribers for the launch.
The meme I posted is in this post's thumbnail.
I will try other mediums and see if I can get better results.
If you're interested in finding SaaS trends before they take off sign up.
Consider figuring out more specific Meme's to your audience than using pop culture memes. I have found that "pop culture" memes get a high click through rate on social media but very little purchase intent.
Where as creating your own meme's and using the meme style with your content actually increases purchase intent.
My target audience is indie hackers. I should focus more on them then?
"Indiehackers" is not necessarily a great "niche" because it's very finely tuned. I'd look more towards broader categories like "trend seekers", or look more at the Job-To-Be-Done, a great book for that is "Competing Against Luck". I think you'd find much better/ more reliable niches to target when you go over your product with the "Job Theory"
IndieHackers is a subset of a subset of a subset. It's such a small little incestuous niche. People like their problems solved and don't really like to be "targeted". So expanding beyond the self starters will enable you to have more impact too, into people's lives. Look at who is reading Pat Walls' Starter Story or Dru Riley's Trends.vc
How would "indie hackers" be considered finely tuned? They are the builders of these products. Their problems are being solved by being up-to-date on the latest trends so that they know what to build before the competition arrives.
You don't think there's value there for this set of people. I'm thinking of the thousands in this community alone.
It's a subset of a subset.... it's far too narrow for anyone to build a single app for them/us. And do you really think that Indiehackers are all looking for ideas? The indiehackers I know already are hacking, independently. They aren't looking for/at trends.
Online Small Businesses are looking for trends... Much easier/broader market to target. And better paying since you won't get the grief of "I could build this in a weekend."
The thousands in this community are specifically already building something.
I'd love to chat more about this with you. Is there a place I can contact you? I just have a few more questions for you.
You can ask questions here. It's where others can learn too.
When you say online businesses are you meaning online businesses across all industries or just the tech industry? I would imagine each industry has their own measure of trends to check, no?
Using a meme as an advertisement can be a creative way to attract subscribers to your platform. Here are some tips on how to gain subscribers from a meme ad:
Make the meme relevant to your niche: Your meme should relate to your business or the industry you're in. For example, if you're promoting a cooking website, create a meme related to cooking or food.
Keep it funny and relatable: The purpose of a meme is to make people laugh, so keep it light-hearted and humorous. Make sure it's relatable to your audience so they can connect with it on a personal level.
Include a call to action: Make sure to include a call to action (CTA) in your meme. This can be a link to your website or a sign-up form where people can enter their email addresses to subscribe.
Use social media: Social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook are great places to share memes. Post your meme ad on these platforms with relevant hashtags and encourage your followers to share it.
Offer an incentive: People love free stuff, so offer an incentive for people to subscribe. This could be a discount code, a free ebook or course, or even a chance to win a prize.
Leverage influencer marketing: Partner with influencers in your niche to share your meme ad with their followers. This can help you reach a wider audience and gain more subscribers.
Remember, the goal of a meme ad is to grab people's attention and get them interested in your platform. Use humor and creativity to make your meme stand out and include a clear CTA to encourage people to subscribe.
We have tested a few memes, but not all of them were successful. However, the ones that worked well are now a part of our product. We believe it's important to share some fun on our platform, rather than just focusing on work all the time. You can check them out on our profile.
We use memes related to customer retention, SaaS churn rate, and revenue because our product is Churnfree, a customer retention tool that helps businesses reduce their membership churn rate.
The link doesn't work for some reason. Would love to check this out.
