Early this year, I stepped down from a CTO position at an early-stage funded startup. I wanted to be an indie hacker again, where there is probably more work but all the freedom. I started working on a few things
Soon after, 2 of my side projects (built last year) got acquisition offers for 5-figures in total, an amount that was enough to keep me going for a year without revenue. The acquirers noticed they started doing legal papers. Things felt like it was going well.
But then the acquirers went radio silent. The deals didn't fall through. Besides, the projects I was working on had every few traction. Salary from the previous job ran out, even late for rent.
I looked back at past projects to see any way that is safer to do as an indie hacker. Then remember there is a channel that was much easier to find early adopters. At this time, OpenAI had started blooming. I decided to work on a new AI project and focus on this channel.
45 days after launching the MVP, it got $10k in revenue. Started to get customer feedback, feature requests via email and messages every day.
Last month, I decided to write these experiences into a short ebook. It was mainly about the channel that is easier to find and helps your early adopters, where you don't need an existing audience.
This ebook is around 10 pages of content, with specific examples that you can follow through. Covering fundamentals from choosing an idea, and a framework to use, to getting your first customers. It's more suitable for early stage, indie products
The channel has a high conversation rate I believe if you have good execution, you can achieve at least $2-5k in sales, your early adopters, and feedback to improve and be ready for the next stage of growth.
Since it's not a big channel, I planned to release limited copies of the ebook. There are copies 40/50 left. To get the ebook, please
Note that you can buy multiple products. The sum amount is >= $34. If you want the ebook, but financially not ready to pay, please email me as well. You can pay later
More details of the ebook is available on GetStartedEbook.com
Got this guide and read it. It's to the point advice from a fellow indie dev.
Thanks for supporting the ebook Harish!
Hey great journey you had as a indie hacker, how can I get the book. The domain is not working
Hey @katemiller, the site is still accessible on my side. Does it show any error message?
As mention at the end of the post. Instead of pay me for the ebook, you can buy a product from any hackers, then share the receipt with me (by sending an email to hieunc(at)thegums.co). I'll send you the ebook
Note that the receipt (or receipts if you buy multiple products) should be >= $34
Hope that's clear. If you still have questions, please let me know
