Here it is, my first landing page.

I just designed and built this landing page, and I know something is missing (like the product!?), but I would like some feedback if you're not in a position to refuse. https://statdesk.io

    Great start, Janet! Here are a couple tips:

    1. Try putting the call to action "above the fold" so it appears on the screen the moment the page loads. On mobile you have to scroll all the way to the bottom to find the action the site wants us to take
    2. Instead of focusing on the features of the tool itself above the fold, focus on the problem or pain point the customer management tool is solving. What frustrates your buyer such that they're looking for a customer management tool? Find that pain point and use it to your advantage.

      I definitely agree that I should be focusing on the pain points rather than the features. I've updated the site to reflect the pains I'm hoping to alleviate.

        Generally above the fold call to action buttons perform better. If the user wants to scroll down to see more details / features, that's perfectly fine. For complicated tools, this is often necessary. I'd certainly keep detail below the fold (after scrolling down) on your site.

        My recommendation would be to catch their attention and request their email address before scrolling down.

    I like the minimal approach. I did the same thing with my landing page.

    You should maybe increase the size of font of "Customer management for..." and also make it span more column, so that it can spread and doesn't appear in multi-lines.

    Hi Janet - It's difficult to tell what your product is from the landing page.

    As a freelancer/founder I assume I'm part of your target audience, but I have no idea what most of the statements mean.

    Try adding more detail to each statement while explaining the benefits. Here are a few examples using your current copy as a baseline.

    Hi, We're StatDesk - The dead simple customer relationship management system for freelancers/founders/developers.

    • Always stay connected. StatDesk provides simple, 24/7 communication with your customers through email and chat.

    • Delight Your Customers. Our chat commands make it easy to respond quickly and bring the power of a full-fledged CRM and Helpdesk to your fingertips.

    • Simple Set-up: Our code-free installation means you can get started right away - no expensive consultants needed :)"

    Beyond that, I suggest interviewing a few potential customers to fully understand their frustrations with their current solutions. Use whatever language they use to write your copy "in their words".

    I really liked @edit5 's redesign from a visual and organizational standpoint.

    I agree with others that your current version looks professional and trustworthy. Does not feel dodgy ;-)

    My only potential feedback is that it isn't clear to me right away why your product is different from other options. As I scroll down, I start to understand that it has something to do with chat commands, which is really intriguing! If I had to guess, I would say that you had intended for the animated hero text to convey the differentiator. But I think it needs to be stated even more explicitly right at the beginning.

    I was always taught that the landing page is selling the outcome that the customer will get by using the product. (How will their lives be better?) So you'll want to state what that is and then follow it with the differentiating factor. Something along the lines of "<the amazing transformation I'll experience> with <the amazing differentiator> of statdesk.io."

    I wouldn't shy away from including even more information. People who aren't sold on your product instantaneously but who are intrigued will keep scrolling in order to convince themselves they should buy your product. I'd love to see a little more detail under each of your value props beneath the fold, to help me understand the product more clearly and why I need it.

    If there's any social proof you can include, I'd do that. I'm thinking about any trends in the industry that indicate this is the direction CRM is going, quotes from well-known people that support your value proposition, that kind of thing.

    I'm just about to straighten out my landing page (which is not good at all, ha!). This helped me realize what I need to do, so thanks!

      Thanks for the reply Kirsten. I definitely agree that I need to sell 'the dream' (so to speak). I'm not sure what other forms of social proof there are other than the whole 'trusted by these companies' thing. :P

    Hey man, awesome look and feel, would just perhaps include some more details about your product. It's very Sumire in this current setup.

    So perhaps add a separate content page?

    It is a great start! What font are you using? Gave you tried Google fonts yet? I will cover the whole first page with the top gree, and show the white once the user scrolls. The footer could use some work.

    Hi Janet,

    The things I like - the clean design, colors and simplicity. The animation at the top is a nice touch and holds people’s attention.

    Some ideas - Answer questions visitors may be asking - is it free? What does the output look like when we run the curl command? I mean yes it’s JSON maybe show an example, just a thought.

    Also can experiment with long-form and list some other benefits. Some examples:

    • “Use the tools you use already” (familiarity)
    • “Automate your busy work” (turn around faster and save time, don’t lose customers/revenue/opportunity)

    Pro tip: tell a story. How you came from a background in CRM or sales and saw too many lost opportunities.

    I’m assuming your target customers are technically-savvy from the API examples. Do we then have to build a front end or dashboard or does it integrate with our workflow? What would people get for signing up today - 1 year free?

    Who’s your biggest competitor right now and if someone’s using them, can you convince them to switch, etc.

    Maybe you can have a quick explainer video or gif to explain the product concept at the top.

    Sorry this turned out longer than I wanted to and I hope I didn’t bum you out with more homework. And a quick word of encouragement - there’s always room in the market for another project management and CRM product in my opinion. Why? Because everyone’s workflow is different and if you can cater to a certain segment of customers, you can make a true community of evangelists. As an example, check out Tiny CRM.

      Thanks for the Reply Brayden. I built this page without the use of themes/frameworks/nocode because I wanted to carve out the brand and mobile feel the page.

      I really tried to make it responsive, so hearing that feedback feels great!
      I didn't bother hammering out that js bug because it didn't impact the over all functionality of the page. But, if you're browser tipped you off outside of the console, that's something I'm very concerned about.
      I'll definitely check out this favicon thing. And maybe even get a logo soon too. :P
      And yes, the description stuff is on the agenda :).

      For the design, I decided to use off the shelf illustrations until I could get screen shots of my prototype. I'll probably need those sooner than I thought.
