Answering questions on Quora was one of the key drivers of growth in our early days at OneUp (a social media scheduling tool that I'm the co-founder of with over 70,000 users now).
Here's a free and easy way to find Quora questions with over 1,000 views, but only one answer.
Why does this matter? You can write answers to relevant Quora questions where your product is the solution to the problem. Then people who have that problem will find your answer and discover your product.
Here's how to do it:
Paste this into Google, but replace "keyword" with whatever keyword you're looking for:
site:quora.com keyword "1 answer" "k views"
For example:
site:quora.com SaaS "1 answer" "k views"
The top result for this search shows a Quora question with only 1 answer, but over 5,900 views:
Now write your answer, and you're only competing with 1 other answer for the top spot! 🤓
That’s it! Hope it’s helpful :)
you can also follow me on Twitter if you like SaaS-related tweets: https://twitter.com/mynameis_davis
Thanks @DavisBaer, this is helpful. What types of companies can get customers from Quora? B2C? I know some people swear by it, but I've never used it.
B2B or B2C companies can find customers through Quora.
Many people think nobody is on Quora because "who goes to Quora to search?".
Which is valid in a way, because pretty much nobody goes to Quora to search.
HOWEVER, people search something on Google, and then find a Quora question/answer as one of the top results of their Google search, and then find the solution to their problem. This is how Quora gets the vast majority of their traffic.
Makes sense! So perhaps another factor in whether you should spend time answering a Quora question is how high it ranks in the SERP...
Yes! I recently saw a post on LI that suggested using the presence of Quora results in the SERPs to identify good topics for website content. The rationale was that if Quora (or Reddit) answers were among the top results, it was a subject with few answers and a good blog on the topic could gain traction quickly.
Interesting, I actually just read that here on IH a couple of days ago.
Quora is Google's 2nd cousin in my opinion in terms of quasi mimicking a search engine and attracting a massive audience.
Here's some quick stats:
*9.03% of their traffic comes from Google which means it's high intent traffic.
*If you are a Ahrefs subscriber you can use their website to discover extremely high quality relevant keywords to target for your SEO strategy.
Point being if you're not on Quora or leveraging it in some capacity for customer acquisition you are missing out BIG TIME.
Very cool trick. I wish I had known about this earlier!
One thing maybe to add, is that I hope we're all careful with the way that we promote on Quora. No-value-add product promotion on the platform has really killed it, in terms of the quality of the answers and the community there. Which is a real shame. I used to really love Quora.
Wicked! Will put in my newsletter, thanks
Appreciate it Pete!
what about adding intitle operator?
It helps to avoid false positives:
site:quora.com intitle:SaaS "1 answer" "k views"
That works as well!
THanks @DavisBaer! This is an amazing trick.
Our startup also gained our initial users from Reddit. And it's been a hella process. Wonder if you can also write an article talking about how not to get banned by subreddits haha, as I've certainly been banned by a few of them!
Hey Rebecca, I wrote this guide for marketing on Reddit:

I was planning on turning it into a book someday. We'll see if I ever get there 😅
Thanks Davis! That's very generous of you!
Quick and simple - love it!
Hope it's helpful for you :)
Ok, you're a kind of genius benefactor... Tnx a lot!
Wow, a great piece of advice for organic growth :)
i added this hack to my newsletter https://preview.mailerlite.io/preview/431445/emails/87621836905383513
thanks for sharing it!
Thanks for sharing
A great tactic. I would have never thought about it. Really simple. Could definitely extend it to 2 or 3 answers too
Nice, thanks for sharing this tip!
Tysm for sharing this trick. Can you share some other creative ways that startups can use Quora to drive growth and increase visibility?
Thanks for sharing this helpful tip on finding Quora questions with high views and low answers! As a Quora user myself, it's always great to learn new strategies for finding questions to answer. And when it comes to answering questions about spider plants, I couldn't agree more that spider plant care starts with the right soil. Thanks again for sharing this valuable insight ;)
This is amazing, thank you! I'm eager to try this out...
Wow I haven't used Quora in 10 years. I looked up my old login to see I had 124k views on my old answers. Now look what you started. I decided to write a few new answers and went down the rabbit hole that Quora is an hour later I came up for air. Anyways thanks for the tips and the motivation to get back into the quora space. Cheers
Finding Quora questions with lots of views but few answers can be a great way to identify topics where you can provide valuable insights and establish yourself as an expert in your field. Here are some tips for finding these questions:
Use the search function: Use Quora's search function to look for questions related to your area of expertise. Sort the results by "Most Viewed" to find questions with a high number of views.
Look for questions with few answers: Once you've identified questions with a high number of views, look for questions with only a few answers. These questions are more likely to be open to new perspectives and insights.
Check the date: Make sure to check the date of the question to ensure it is still relevant. Questions that are several years old may not be as useful to answer.
Consider the quality of the question: Look for questions that are well-written and clear. Questions that are too broad or vague may not be worth your time to answer.
By focusing on Quora questions with lots of views but few answers, you can provide valuable insights to a large audience and establish yourself as an expert in your field.
Great tips for identifying Quora questions with high potential! 🙌 Providing valuable insights to a large audience is a fantastic way to establish expertise in your field. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this lifehack!
This is a great trick in terms of SEO.
This trick is right up my alley!! I literally was coming here today looking for stuff like this and your post was featured. Funny it even gave me an idea for another product lol great tip for sure
Hope it's helpful for you :)
keep it up man this is amazing
Great answer! @DavisBaer Thank you so much! Keep up the great work!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is great, thanks! I'll try this out. Couple of questions for you: is there an approval process to answer on Quora or is it open to anyone? Are the links you post dofollow?
I answered my own question by going through the process and wow... it's super easy and straight forward to answer questions. Unfortunately the links are nofollow but at least it can drive good relevant traffic.
Very helpful @DavisBaer. I’m looking forward to experimenting with this. Planning to provide authentic answers and sign off with the name and link to my website rather than directly pitching my service. Any thoughts on going this route?
Great guide Davis. I’m wondering, besides providing value in your answer, did you plug the link in the answer or just mention the product casually?
This is extremely helpful for me as i am going to start my affiliate blog soon and planning to acquire customers through Quora. But i wonder if someone is already doing this can give me some worthy tips?
Real value without clickbaits right here! Thank you very much man!
thanks for the trick bro as a quora marketer it really helps me.
@DavisBaer Great hack! Thanks for sharing this easy and effective way to find Quora questions with high views but low answers. 🚀👍
Very helpful! I also liked the reddit guide.
Regarding quora, did you try Promoted Answers? I´m getting good results in a small scale, but trying to figure out how to scale it and would love some tips.
Thanks for sharing!
Appreciate it Marin, glad you liked the Reddit guide as well :)
I have never experimented with Promoted Answers. What results have you seen so far?
I've noticed that the promoted answers are normally not relevant to the question being asked
The key is to make sure the question matches up perfectly with what you are solving and the answer to be as organic and human as possible.
I am getting high-quality traffic with a 23% conversion rate (installs/visits) and a reasonable (for me) cost per install of less than 1 euro.
Nice tactic, thanks @DavisBaer!
How much time did you spend doing social media outreach like this when you first started with OneUp?
I wouldn't really call this social media outreach, but I spent a ton of time on Quora early on as a way for users to find OneUp
Is there another platform on which you can use this type of Google search as well? For examle: LinkedIn or YouTube
Wont work with LinkedIn because the # of views is not public info, but you can do it for YouTube with this:
site:youtube.com keyword "k views"
Go to Quora and enter the topic you want to explore in the search bar. Click on the topic from the list of results to go to the topic page. On the topic page, click on the "Questions" tab. In the "Sort By" dropdown menu, select "Views" to sort the questions by the number of views.
Really helpful! Thanks for sharing!
Glad it's helpful :)
That's cool. I wonder if one can do the same basic thing with Reddit...
site:reddit.c om intitle:saas "1 comments?"
gives something but not sure if it's good enough.
(Please remove space between c and o, I'm not allowed to share links.)
Hmm, yeah, that looks like it'd probably do the trick. Thanks!
This is incredible! Thank you for sharing this.
Glad it's helpful!
I think it is helpful
Glad to hear :)
This is absolute genius, Thank you for this helpful resource.
Hope you are able to use it to find some users :)
Thanks for sharing these tips for finding Quora questions with lots of views but few answers. As the owner of the Fordeer: Invoice Print Order app for Shopify, I know how challenging it can be to promote a new app and get it in front of potential users.
Quora can be a great platform for reaching new users and building awareness for your app, but it can also be a crowded and competitive space. By finding and answering questions that are relevant to your app and providing valuable insights and solutions, you can establish yourself as an authority in your niche and drive traffic to your website or app listing.
However, it's important to remember that promoting your app is an ongoing process that requires consistent effort and experimentation. By trying out different strategies, tracking your results, and adapting your approach as needed, you can improve your app's visibility and attract more users over time.
Thanks again for sharing these tips, and best of luck with your app promotion efforts!
Thanks Sharon :)
Thanks for sharing this hack. It's indeed helpful
Glad to hear!
Thanks @DavisBaer, very creative.
I may consider adding it my to under development/upcoming mentionbot.io
Clever. Thanks!
This is an awesome hack. Curious - how did you find out about it? Have you found it to be an effective channel for growth compared to investment?
PS, took a look at your website and the gif on your landing page would be a prime candidate to be improved by Supademo
Pretty clever trick! Thanks for sharing
Glad it's helpful!
This is an amazing hack for getting good organic traffic from Quora. I'm going to try it out for sure. Thanks for sharing it Davis.
Hope it helps!
Thanks for sharing. This is helpful.
Glad to hear :)
To find Quora inquiries with heaps of perspectives yet relatively few responses, go to the Quora search bar and type in a subject you are keen on. The next step is to sort the results by "Most Viewed," and then scroll down to the questions with a lot of views but few responses. Alternately, you can sort by views and responses using the advanced search options. You can also look for questions that are trending or have been asked recently and have received a lot of views but few responses.
