Hey IndieHackers! My name is Nick and I'm starting a new project called Vetted.
tl;dr: the landing page for review can be found at https://vetted.camp, but of course I'd appreciate if you read the full write-up below!

The problem 🤔
The software engineering job application process is a mess. Every time a software engineer submits a job application, they enter a screening process that may include hundreds (or thousands) of other applicants. I have chatted with recruiters about how they handle this huge number of applicants. There are several approaches, all of which are suboptimal:
And this is the best case scenario! Many smaller businesses and startups don't have the luxury of having dedicated recruiters. In those cases, managers and employees are often spending hours they could be doing product work reviewing résumés instead.
Candidates and companies are getting a raw deal, one that Vetted aims to fix.
The idea 💡
Vetted is a reverse job board SaaS offering. There are plenty of reverse job boards out there, so Vetted aims to stand out by focusing on quality over quantity: there will be a detailed review process to have your profile added to Vetted. As an applicant, you'll actually have your résumé and side projects reviewed by another software engineer. As a company searching for software engineers, you'll know that every profile you look at has been carefully reviewed.
This model uses one of my favorite startup tips: use your small size to your advantage. At a small scale, I can afford to review candidates personally. As the service grows, more scalable models can be added as different service tiers.
Next steps
As my post title suggests, I'm quite early on in the process. I have a landing page at https://vetted.camp that I'd appreciate any feedback on.
Other things I need to figure out:
I also need to, you know, build the product! But that's the relatively easy part since I'm a software engineer by trade.
I would love your feedback
I'd love any thoughts you have, fellow hackers! Any questions about the idea, thoughts on viability, thoughts on the landing page, etc. It's all welcome and will help me determine the product's viability and, if it's looking promising, build the best product possible.
Thank you!
Nick
