Website : https://www.thedatapond.net
Demo : https://www.thedatapond.net/demo
Last week we launched www.thedatapond.net and published our first post on IH (here).
Feedback has been positive so far. The idea seems to be good.
Now we need to focus on the landing page. What do you think about it ?
We have difficulties :
We don't know much about marketing, so any help would help us learn faster.
If you find typo or grammatical errors, please, tell us. English is not our mother tongue.
Thanks
I'm not entirely sure what your app offers. It sounds like it offers an api for location data. Who is your target audience? How do your competitors speak to that audience?
I also don't think you should hide the Demo or the About content behind different pages. Why not include the demo on the homepage? Before I pressed the Demo button I assumed that it's function was for me to "schedule a demo" but I was delighted to see that I didn't have to do that.
A great way to communicate what your product is to show a case study that demonstrates how a customer used and benefited from your product.
We have created three cases studies and moved the "about" page on the front page. If you time to have a look could you tell us if it's better like that. Any typo, grammatical error ? Can we improve the case studies ?
awesome, the case studies definitely helped me understand the product value more. I was surprised to see so much text on the page though. I think one case study should be satisfactory. Maybe you can add a small photo for the Babelli company to balance out the text.
Also, I think you should hire a freelance UI designer for an hour to give you feedback on your site's design. There are many different fonts and colors on your page that make it less easy to understand.
Duly noted.
We will change "demo" by "try it!" and we will write a case study to put on the homepage. Two more things on the todo list. Thanks for your comments, very useful.
It's half clear, need to find a generic common word to use to explain.
The demo seems kinda broken on mobile, not sure what the hiding half blue button is or what happens after I draw the shape.
Should also give a visual feel for more categories not just word it.
To find keyword you can start with Google trends or go to Google AdWords tool, than there are many paid tools as well...
On its own don't expect much SEO your not a content site..
What formats do I get the data for example? Is it API or simple exports?...
I assume it's easy public data, the only slightly special thing I see is drawing the area... Do you have use cases for it? Would that be available by API somehow?..
Thanks.
"need to find a generic common word to use to explain" : we are looking for that but no nice idea yet. We are struggling.
"give a visual feel for more categories", noted.
We are going to write one or more case studies to make things easier to figure out.
Thanks for the tips.
"Do you have use cases for it?"
