Is the product clear from the landing page?

Hey community,

Was wondering if the product is understandable from the landing page: https://vidrec.org.

Would really appreciate any feedback and suggestions!

Thanks.

Congrats - the product looks incredible. I def see this doing well.

Here are a few suggestions to make the landing page easier to understand.

    • A minor tweak, but I think "from within Slack is slightly more accurate/descriptive.

    • I'd replace "asynchronously" with another word or phrase. I always try to write copy that's as simple to understand as possible. Non-native English users won't understand asynchronously.

    • Unless you're going to be specific with who you target, always assume your users don't know shit about technology. The TSL protocol won't mean anything to most Slack users. Instead, use something more relatable. Ex: "Your videos are encrypted via the TLS protocol" could become "We encrypt your videos with the same level of protection that banks use for transactions."

    Hope that helps. Good luck!

Thanks so much for the thorough feedback!

      from within Slack

      I agree, will change.

      replace "asynchronously"

Good point. It's a tough word to replace, I'll brainstorm about that to make it understandable to a wider audience.

The TLS protocol won't mean anything to most Slack users

Interesting point, didn't think about that. I like the idea of mentioning industries that rely on this this security protocol as opposed to directly sharing the tech used.

it is, the headline "Easily record and send videos, from Slack." is very clear.
I would push the video up next to the headline on the right and fix the ratio :)

cool idea btw, would you add record screen? I think that would be more common

      Thanks!

Currently working on a graphic that will make the concept of VidRec clear, just from the picture. I'll make sure to take your advice and put that next to the headline, so viewers can immediately understand what the app does.

It currently handles both webcam and screen-recording. I'll try to make that clearer, because I agree that would be a more common use-case.
