More and more countries are starting to eliminate 99% of COVID measures. As a consequence, we can expect more and more companies to recommend/require people to start working in the office.
For indie hackers with a job, will you continue working remotely? What's your situation?
Yup, my job was fully remote before and will continue to be fully remote after. There's no office, which begs the question of "remote to what".
I was asked to come back to office last week. But considering how I've become accustomed to working remotely and having flexible hours to work on my startup, I think it's less likely I'll be going back.
At the moment, I'm thinking of resigning and going full time on Famewall and another SaaS idea which I'm validating at the moment :)
I think Hybrid model is good.
I'll be continuing to work from home and some-what nomadically. I'd be willing to go back into the office at some point, however, now I have the option and I'd like to use that to travel.
You would need good tools for staying remote! Checkout https://cogency.io to help your remote meetings !!
I switched my working model from in office to fully remote. It's been a great choice! More flexible hours = more hours to work on Sidekick.
We only stopped working for 3 weeks back in March 2020 when the city-wide lockdown mandate was placed in USA. After that, the team behind doctranslator.com and conveythis.com has been working in the office as usual!
Fortunately I've negotiated working remotely 80% or more of the time with my company.
Interesting, any tips for somebody who wants to negotiate something similar?
No specific tips; you need to be so valuable that the "con" of you working remotely still outweighs letting you go.
