Hi everyone!
I run a web design and development agency, and I noticed an interesting pattern.
Almost all indiehackers, solopreneurs, or bootstrapped founders inquire for similar service scope.
They are often coders themselves looking for help to make their apps looking nice before going live.
All they need are some UI fixes, minor UX changes, fonts, and color palette tweaks.
Typical agency approach that entails research, personas, UX wireframes, multiple iterations is not the way to go in this case.
I'm thinking of a productized service that would address this need.
I envision 3-5 day turn around, pricing plans based on the number of screens, and priced between $1,000-$2,000.
I found that most productized design services are based on the hourly packages, which barely give any idea about the output.
Also, I think it might be especially useful for mobile apps and some web apps. Landing pages can be easily built on top of existing, decent templates.
Let me know what you think!
Would you use it?
What pricing, turn around, and deliverables would make sense in your case?
I have a need for this. I have 1 page and 2 processes I need UX refactoring. $1000 is reasonable.
Hi @net2tim, hit me up at dc@altalogy.com and let's do it :)
I have just sent you an email.
Interesting idea.
Iif we wasn't a very lean bootstrapped company that would be a great investment. Ideally I would have had more savings before starting this, but got to keep that runway.
Would also love to talk about partnering on landing pages, I'm the co-founder of https://versoly.com/
We're replacing Wordpress and Squarespace for b2b or b2c websites.
Hi Volkan!
Thanks for you response.
Could you elaborate? So maybe instead of providing redesigned app screens, it would make more sense to provide design systems, so lean companies like your could iterate faster using visual building blocks instead of figuring our UI every time they want to ship new view/feature?
We know each other from the telegram group, and I'm familiar with Versoly, feel free to hmu :)
Your current plan + a design system sounds good.
We most likely wouldn't spend money until we had a lot higher MRR.
So we aren't your type of customer.
A lot of founders are working nights and weekends and have more money than time. I think they would be a perfect fit for you.
That's a good point, thank you! Do you think it might be productized to the extent of being able to purchase right on the website? Not sure if "Buy now $1599" would be a good CTA, probably most of potential customers would like to reach out and learn more
I think you will need to do a lot of education and building trust.
So put out free content blogs, videos, tools etc.
Then they will be much more likely to pay.
But yes will most likely need a sales call before.
