Roast my new landing page, happy to return the favour!

Here's Panelscout - https://www.panelscout.com/. An onboarding tool for web developers who work freelance or for an agency.

I posted it on here a while back and got some good responses, however due to having a lot of free time recently I decided it was due a proper rebuild. Looks much better than it used to, but I'm curious what you guys think?

    Hi Charlie - thoughts below.

    First Impression

    • Cool idea! I'm not familiar with the space but can imagine its a problem.
    • Your video is cut off / half visible when the page loads
    • Main text + slogan are great. Concise and descriptive
    • Maybe just me but I feel like the how-it-works section might be better before the demo (don't get me wrong I love that you have a demo I just think once people understand the value then they would want to see it in action).

    Deeper Dive

    • Intro video: To me the video doesn't provide additional information that isn't on the website already.
    • Demo panel: This is excellent. A few comments: Can you make the demo open in a new tab? That way users can easily come back to your landing page (for conversion purposes). Would love to see visuals here (screenshots / virtual sticky notes etc.) It would make it feel more like a collaborative space. Would love to be able to move boxes around dynamically (i.e. bring the most important boxes to the top / swap questionnaire and design etc.)
    • Pricing section is great. Only thing I might change (very minor) is how you articulate the benefits in every plan (maybe change to a list? I felt myself glancing over the boxes).
    • Minor copy issue How it works section: '..when the panel is completed instead of panel's completed'.

Would love to hear your thoughts on my landing page https://engineeringcollective.io

Hi Robert, thanks for getting back to me, that's all really helpful. I'm definitely going to take a further look at rebuilding the layout of the demopanel and panel pages like you mentioned. Obviously that is the core of the site and unlike the rest of the site hasn't been redesigned recently. It could definitely look a bit sleeker.

I've taken a look at your site and here's what I've noted down,

      In general:

I feel like I understand what you've built, but it did take me a little while to fully get my head around the platform. There's obviously a fair few workspace sites around, but yours seems to focus primarily on an academic field and I feel that could be a little clearer. Perhaps 'Your Virtual Workspace' could be slightly too broad a point if you're focusing on individuals in the math space which it seems you are?

In the 'How it Works' section, I definitely feels a few of the points are a lot more valuable than others, but at the moment they're all in a list as though they're of equal importance. To me being able to export work as a PDF, have access to tutorial videos and have a community I can fall back on to ask questions are much more important than say earning points for answering questions.

If you could build a community around a certain industry I assume it could be a really helpful site, and a community would definitely be one of the key selling points in my opinion.

My only other nitpick is that the video could have some talking or text to explain what's going on? It would of course give you an opportunity as well to explain some more about the benefits.

I do think it's a cool idea though, and I can definitely see the value in having a community based around an academic area where people will constantly be needing advice. The images you've used I think are also great, the platform itself appears easy to understand and relatively straight forward.

      Hope this helps!

      Thanks again
