Ruttl end of year review: 7K+ new users and what worked out for us ✨

Hello, everyone!

As the new year has begun, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past 12 months and share some of the highlights and accomplishments we had from our feedback tool ruttl.

The year 2022 has been our best year ever - We crossed 12,000 users, received & implemented the ✨dopest✨ suggestions to make the product even better and we shall continue to do the same this year as well!

While it has been truly amazing for us, we owe this to all our terrific users, supporters and this wonderful community here at Indie Hackers. You all have helped us surpass the below milestones in less than 365 days!

The things I believe worked out for us -

  1. Being active on social media - we largely promote and engage with our audience/community on twitter, Indie Hackers and LinkedIn wherein we mostly get new users through twitter by making targeted tweets, engaging with relevant audiences and providing value to the members.

  2. Running our affiliate program - we started offering discounts and benefits to our affiliates and any new users they bought in, which significantly increased our user base especially when we offered lifetime deals.

  3. Writing blogs - creating new content and sharing insights from our journey and what we learnt from our launch on AppSumo as well as on Product Hunt garnered us great attention which resulted in many people trying our product and leaving feedback/suggestions.

  4. SEO - when it comes to generating traffic to your website, let me tell you SEO is your best friend. I know it takes time and doesn’t give instant results but once it takes off, it’s the best strategy out there.

  5. Constant improvements - we continuously strive to enhance our product by actively gathering user feedback and incorporating it into our development process. We set specific timelines for implementing new features and regularly work on improving the overall user experience.

  6. Quick problem solving - last but not the least, prioritizing prompt and efficient resolution of user queries and issues helped in building trust and strong relationships with our users.

In addition to the above strategies, we also attempted running paid campaigns last year, but without prior experience, the results were not as successful as we had hoped. However, as a team we are taking steps to improve our approach this time around and are optimistic that with more knowledge and experience it will yield better results.

If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to leave them in the comments. I’ll try to answer them as frequently as possible.

Though I might be a bit late, still Happy New Year everyone 😊

Thank you for reading!
