Stand-up #16 May 12, 2020

Hi,

Project: https://amicu.app/ - Reminders to keep in touch with the people in your life.

I woke up at 4:23 am today without an alarm clock. It's been some weeks since the last time. I'm getting back into my sleep cycle.

I spend my morning time with a deep dive on the topic of friendship. It was a lot of fun to read philosophy and challenge my thinking. There's lots of stories about why one should start with a problem and not a solution. Since I started using the app I am learning more from my own experience. As my understanding of the problem is changing I need to rethink a few things. But I assume this is one of the reasons why many solutions are not working long term. There's 100 % clear problems like a calculator app for the everyday use. I'm arguing that friendship is complex. I am looking forward to continue this tomorrow morning.

“Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art, like the universe itself… it has no survival value; rather it is one of those things which give value to survival.” - C.S. Lewis

During the day, I finished and uploaded the new App Store Screenshots via Figma. I worked on the migration to the new name in the code, subscriptions and behind the scenes things.

There are issues with the newest Xcode version and Mojave so I will finally update to Catalina and iOS 13. After all the bugs this year I'm a bit concerned that this will take time.

Yesterday's progress:

  • Read articles
  • Think about the problem space a bit more
  • Work on carrd site for a friend

Today's progress:

  • App Store Screenshots
  • Rebranding Migration work
  • Bugfixes
  • Thinking about the problem space

Tomorrow's progress:

  • Install Catalina, Xcode, iOS 13 etc
  • Work on the product

Later:

  • Ask for landing page feedback in PH
