The Twitter secret to getting your first customers, for free

I run BD for a startup and have generated $645,000 in the last 8 months

We never run paid ads.

We never do cold outreach.

And we do it all on Twitter (I dont even have Linkedin)

The strategy is simple:

  1. Search your <keyword> (ex: "SEO AI")
  2. Find threads that have good traction
  3. Get a list of all those who replied and liked (meaning they're interested in AI automating SEO)
  4. DM them an offer they cant refuse
  5. Ex: "hey mike, I've gotten 23 blogs to first page ranking and generate clients 400k+ pageviews using AI SEO. I can set it up for you at half the price of competitors and give you similar results or your money back"

Tailor this to your service ^^

These leads are much warmer than traditional cold outreach

Now here's a gift for the IH community

I've turned this into an app that saves you hours when doing this

And its all free! until I finish adding features :D

No need to sign up or anything

Go to https://app.tweedy.io/

Search any keyword (or input a tweet link)

Click a tweet you think has people that would be interested in your product

It will give you a list of usernames, followers, website, etc.

We even scrape their website in bio for their email (most dont have)

You export all this into a csv and start messaging (or emailing)

You can even upload to your favorite auto-dm software

Upcoming Features

I'll be adding trending keywords to help you brainstorm

Adding notifications when new tweets with your keywords appear

Reddit support?

And much more

All I ask is that you show this post some love :D

If there's something you would like to see implemented, comment below

Glad to be a part of this community, hope this helps!

Superb idea here, @MannyGG! Thank you.

Tagging my co-founder, @marc2242 since these are the kind of initial traction ideas we need!

    1. 2

    Cool tool! Thanks for sharing.
Does it work with the basic tier Twitter API?

    1. 1

Im using an unofficial API which works just as good

  7. 1

I've been using this method for gipeties, and it's really effective!

  8. 1

I was considering reaching out to people on X to identify potential interest in my product. You've already made this process easy for us to use :) I appreciate it!

    1. 1

      glad I could help! :)

  9. 1

Wow looks super cool!! How are you dealing with Twitter api rate limits or does it use scraping ? Morbidly curious

    1. 1

yeah scraping. its an unofficial api

  10. 1

Smart organic Twitter strategy to identify warm leads and make irresistible offers Manny - providing a free scraping tool is generous. Focusing on value and relationships drives growth.

Very promising tool, thanks for sharing!
Others already suggested improvements, I will add a few here:

    1. Add Today, Yesterday, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, This month, Last month, as date periods as it will be more helpful for fast social media platforms.
    2. Add rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" to the outbound websites links, as people might highjack your website to build backlinks.
    1. 1

ahh thanks for this. when searching keywords, you have the option to specify a date period but I guess I can add those as faster ways to achieve this.

      thanks for the feedback!

This is great! I've been taking a similar approach using Reddit, but the automation in your tool is a huge time saver. Nice work

    1. 1

Thanks! Will add a few more things for everyone

  13. 1

    Thanks for the tool.
It would be great to save searches. Maybe in future versions.

Smart strategy leveraging Twitter to identify and engage potential customers organically!

Providing a free tool to automate part of the process is generous. Focusing on value proposition in outreach is key. Best of luck as you continue developing helpful features.

This is the approach I've used for gipeties and it has worked great!

It is particularly effective if you are able to make content targeted specifically at a user like this:

That's the sort of advice I joined indie Hackers for, this will definitely up my marketing game on my upcoming launch 😁

    1. 1

glad i was able to help !

Thank you for sharing this valuable contribution with the community.

Thanks for building, I'm bookmarking this and taking a spin around the application. It's a cool little tool!

    1. 1

      Appreciate the words !

  21. 1

Looks great! Can be extended to reddit as well, as you said. Loved the fact that you don't need to sign up. I would like to sort the users according to follower count. Additionally it would have been perfect if we can list the users that bookmarked or reposted the tweet as well.

    1. 1

thanks for this. will add those features as well

  22. 1

I tried Tweedy and it's pretty cool! Just a suggestion, it would be awesome if there was a button that takes you to the original tweet.

    1. 1

      +1 This seems pretty important.

    2. 1

      cool thanks! will add

  23. 1

I've gave it a quick try, and it looks cool. I do plan to try and be more active on twitter, so I'll definitely use this!

    1. 1

awesome! let me know if theres anything you'd like to see

That's cool bro, and love that its not gated unlike others, who try to console users by saying, no CC needed ;) I think you should add tooltips in sections, as some input restrictions are without context for the users.
Also, you can try SuprSend to add multi-channel messaging capabilities without coding anything. All channels are included with fallback mechanisms.
