This weekend I built a website to track public opinions on Bitcoin

Hello IndieHackers. I just finished building a website to track public opinions in Bitcoin.

Okay, it took me more than a weekend (4 days), but I made it before the halving which is coming up in 5 hours. I have been itching to become an IndieHacker for a while now and this is my first step.

To be honest I have no clue if this is something people want but my goal is to get more people to learn about Bitcoin. If you are interested you can subscribe to the newsletter where I send Bitcoin "fortune cookies" (I'll setup Mailchimp soon).

How it works

I spend time browsing twitter and liking good bitcoin related tweets (twitter.com/blocksnacks). Every like is automatically posted on the website.

Tech stack

  • Vercel
  • Firebase
  • Nextjs
  • Tailwindcss
  • Twitter

I had a boilerplate setup that I use for projects so I can iterate fast.

Thanks for reading 🙏

Turn it into a high-frequency trading system ;) That's how many of them are built: determine the overall sentimental analysis over a topic to decide if not you should buy it.

Too many pumpers and scammers pushing their agenda's, hard to find real sentiment, unless you are ready for higher risks and gambling. Same goes for penny stocks pump schemes.

    Orange coin good!

The profile pics of the posters don't load when using adblocker (I guess there's no easy way to get around that since they are all hosted on twitter)

      :)

Are you using adblocker with custom settings? It works for me on adblocker.

Firefox only. Their privacy shield blocks it

oops, forgot to mention the website - blocksnacks.com
(I like MarketSnacks, name is copied from there)

Your approach seems like it could be very biased. Have you considered doing some automated sentiment analysis with machine learning of tweets mentioning crypto?

You are right, It is biased. I want to spend time validating this before I can invest more time into the tech.
