GitHub stars are a good metric for the popularity of open-source projects.
We launched Constellation (https://github.com/edgelesssys/constellation) in September and reached 400+ stars in three weeks. Not bad, but also not extraordinary.

I'd say it's pretty on point and we pretty much did all of the things they mention. (They've been a bit more successful ofc)
