We launched a platform for hiring startup developers!

Hey, indie hackers! I'm Rinat, co-founder of Insquad and a startup addict in my heart ๐Ÿ˜Ž. This is my third startup, and I failed the previous ones.

We had been preparing for the launch for two weeks, and it happened! We create a platform for developers who do not want to work in stuffy corporations but are looking for challenges and want to work in startups that change the world.

Support us and give feedback, please! Now we are second and have 260 votes, but with your help, we can win!

This is great! I'll be hiring for devs for our startup sometime soon and Insquad will come in handy!

  2. 5

This is great! Right now we are working with APSY to build our product, but Insquad is definitely something I'll look into after we launch our Beta Product.

    1. 1

Thank you! Let's connect with you on Twitter to be in touch โ€“ https://twitter.com/RinatKhat

  3. 4

I have so far to go... but congrats to you!

  4. 4

I am excited to hear about the launch of a platform for hiring startup developers! The idea of creating a dedicated space for developers who are looking for more challenging and impactful work in startups is a great one. It's important for developers to have the opportunity to work on projects that align with their values and interests, and a platform like this can help make that happen.

I appreciate the transparency and hard work that went into launching this platform. Launching a startup is never easy, and it takes a lot of determination and grit to keep pushing forward. I wish you and your team all the best as you continue to grow and improve your platform.

I will definitely support this platform by giving feedback and by voting for it. It's really important to support new platforms especially the ones that are trying to make a change in the world. I think this platform can bring a lot of value to developers and startups, and I hope to see it grow and succeed in the future.

  5. 3

That's awesome! hiring is an evergreen problem to solve.
    Good Luck!

  6. 3

    yeah, nice idea

    1. 1

      Thank you!!!

  7. 3

Can someone apply as a developer on this site?

  8. 3

Very cool product, I will try it!

    1. 1

Waiting for you! You can write directly to our CEO Alex โ€“ [email protected], and we will organize a meeting to discuss details.

  9. 3

This is really interesting we are hiring right now, does your platform cater to contract work aswell?

  10. 3

    Love this! Upvote you guys.

  11. 2

The salaries offered to devs are low and it doesnโ€™t look like you offer any equity. The platform does not inspire confidence to me. It looks like you charge a premium for finding an "average" developer in low COL area of the world. (I simply cannot believe you have actual senior staff working for 50k a year!)

  12. 2

What's the catch here? How is it different from the existing platforms that help hire developers?

  13. 2

Congratulations! I see that your platform connects companies with seasoned software engineers who want to be hired. Have you considered expanding your service to connecting 1-person startup(or folks who aren't quite a company yet) with engineers who might want to be partners?

  14. 2

Congratulations on the launch of Insquad, Rinat! ๐Ÿš€

  15. 2

Congrats! You can find your early adopters in the Intch app. Publish there information about the new project. This is a good additional tool for first clients. I use it for my projects )

  16. 2

    Great job there!
    Nice platform.

  17. 2

I love the website - Very animated and grabs the attention!

However I noticed the website is very focused on "Finding developers"... what about signing up as a developer (looking for a job)?
I don't really see that mentioned anywhere. But i assume that's after the sign up...

  18. 2

Congrats ! Sounds like a great idea.

  19. 2

Congratulations on the launch of Insquad, I'm excited to learn more about the platform for developers looking for challenges and to work in startups that change the world

  20. 2

Congrats! Looks really cool and will be helpful!

  21. 2

    Hi!
I am a website developer You can see my work.
    This is my site: https://almotion.net/

    1. 1

      Its nothing there. Its down.

  22. 2

Congratulations on the launch of your third startup, Rinat! It takes a lot of courage and determination to keep trying despite previous failures. Your platform sounds like a great solution for developers who want to make an impact in the startup world. Good luck with your mission and let's hope for your success this time. Keep up the hard work and don't forget to listen to the feedback of your community. You got this!

  23. 2

Great idea! We are looking to hire a CTO / Lead Developer in the near future and Insquad looks to be an interesting option to explore. One question, is the platform global? We are based in Singapore and curious if there are developers on the platform from Singapore / India / SE Asia, or are developers primarily based in North America / Europe at this stage?

    1. 1

Hey! I appreciate your interest! Yes, we work globally.

For the last month, we started to work with round B and C startups in Malaysia and Germany. We can find the best developers from Singapore, India, and Europe.

You can write directly to our CEO Alex โ€“ [email protected], and we will organize a meeting to discuss details.

Looking forward to starting working with you!

      1. 1

        Great, thanks for the confirmation!

  24. 2

Looks like something that i'll be visiting in the very near future!

    1. 1

You can write directly to our CEO Alex โ€“ [email protected], and we will organize a meeting to discuss details.

    2. 1

      Waiting for you!

  25. 2

This is really great ! Loved the illustration on the Landing page

  26. 2

    This looks interesting!

  27. 2

Interesting concept and it's fully developed.!
    Good luck for your venture.

  28. 2

This looks really interesting! I'm just getting started on my own business and will eventually be looking for something like this!

    1. 1

Cool! You can write directly to our CEO Alex โ€“ [email protected], and we will organize a meeting to discuss details.

  29. 2

Awesome and, I believe, very high-demanded product! Loved the homepage. It's done nicely with pretty stylish graphics!

  30. 2

this looks like it's for startups of a certain size, but i wish something like this existed for really small startups (like 1-2 person bootstrapped operations). It's so hard to figure out what skills you need in a developer and how to vet them. Upvoted!

  31. 2

Were trying to scale up right now, need 3 DEvs asap. Are you guys any different than lemon.io, distro, clouddevs etc ?

    1. 1

Hey @zidy! Thank you for your interest.

We are focusing only on startups.

In addition to hard skills tests, every Insquad developer should pass an interview, where we assess their soft skills and desire to work in a startup. You can find those interviews in every dev's profile on a platform.

We are targeting devs ready for challenges and responsibilities, as startups need. Also, we care about the growth of the Insquad devs', and every one of them has access to educational courses and our live events.

I am sure that we can help you hire devs in 2 weeks or less. I suggest 15 min call to discuss your needs. You can send me your available slots at [email protected] or hit my Callendly โ€“ https://calendly.com/insquad-partners/call.

      1. 1

I made a mistake in my email. Correct is [email protected]

  32. 2

This is so great, keep it up! I totally understand the feeling of trying, failing, and keep trying until you get to the right idea. We are looking for a dev for uphint.com so I will take a look! Wishing you the best!

  33. 2

Checked out your product and I see it became #3 Product of the Day. Cool! Good luck with your startup! :)

  34. 2

    Good Luck

  35. 2

Good luck! Had a look. Liking how the ads all have the salary. This is important IMO. Ads without salaries in this market are gonna get ignored.

  36. 2

    Best of luck

  37. 2

    Good luck !
    the website looks amazing!
I do think its an harder vertical to operate in...
    but wish all the luck

    1. 1

A topic that you mentioned is tricky. I do #buildinpublic on my Twitter. Let's connect! https://twitter.com/RinatKhat

  38. 1

Would love if you guys could add contract positions as well for software contractors/consultants

  39. 1

    life saver for us ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

  40. 1

This is something I was actually looking for. I work as a developer, but in a spare time I'd like to engage to a startup I believe. I'll definitely give a try to your platform :). Well done.

  41. 1

Looks good, I caught a bad link in your homepage above the fold area "Looking for a job? Apply Here " CTA , the link is not in correct format.

  42. 1

    Looks neat!

  43. 1

Weโ€™ ve done just that in France in 2015. I was first employee and became head of sales. The company is called talent . io. If you want to chat ๐Ÿ‘‹

  44. 1

Congrats. Hope great developers will join.

  45. 1

Congrats on the launch! Best of luck

  46. 1

I just upvoted you (ben Liki or Liki spaces) and will surely check out profiles you have on it.

  47. 1

Oh cool. I am currently hiring, so I may just give it a shot!

  48. 1

Hy Rinat , trust you are doing great
I just checked your website now it looks great but i will like to call your attention to a bug i noticed while trying to the how you hear about us field
only Instagram is clickable and i think you also add other options to that like indie hacker and twitter

  49. 1

Insquad Look great, Rinat! Good luck!

  50. 1

I know of many products for hiring developers in specific country or globally, remote or office work, with jobs in product companies only, etc.
About 10 years ago a hiring platform for anonymous IT job search become extremely popular in Ukraine. This platform have become the most efficient way to hire IT professional. The key to success was in anonymous profiles. People were passively looking for a more interesting project or a better salary, but were afraid that their current employer would find out about it.
My friends tried to repeat this success and create a similar anonymous platform for hiring IT specialists in the Israeli market. In the end they failed despite their best efforts. It turned out that anonymous profiles are not so important for this market.
But I also know of another hiring platform utilizing a Tinder-like swipe gamification for matching IT specialists with employers. This one is successful and becoming global.
    Good luck with your product.

  51. 1

I like that it helps expand remote work. Unlike what Elon Musk thinks, I think remote work is great for those of us who are introverts :)

  52. 1

as a developer, i can't not find some job easily. the platform only face to company not developer ?

  53. 1

    Awesome. Very useful.

  54. 1

Looks like a very cool tool. I am in the market for things like this as a web design agency owner. I'll be taking a look thank you!

  55. 1

This looks pretty cool. I need this lmao. I have a product right now I think would go really well with an audience, just need a dev to help bring it to fruition.

    1. 1

hey are you looking backend developer or api integration

  56. 1

Hi Rinat! Wishing you all the best on your journey with Insquad! Keep up the hard work and innovation. I'll be following your progress and can't wait to see how you continue to evolve and make your mark in the startup world! Let's go!

  57. 1

Congratulations, Rinat, on the successful launch of Insquad!
I just voted for Insquad and shared it with my network. The idea resonates with the growing trend of professionals seeking meaningful and challenging work in startup environments. Wishing you the best of luck in the competition โ€“ with a mission this compelling, I believe you have a great shot at winning!

  58. 1

I love your determination! Well done! It's looking really good so I think you will do great.

  59. 1

Hey Rinat! ๐Ÿ™Œ Wow, congratulations on launching your third startup.

  60. 1

Awesome! I have a similar idea because everyone is shifting to skill based hiring especially for completely remote jobs. I couldn't find information on how you accept crypto. If you are looking to accept bitcoin, feel free to DM me. I am the founder of Blockonomics

  61. 1

    This is Awesome!

  62. 1

I really like the website. It's looking great. The product has potential too. GREAT START

  69. 1

I'm late to the party as well but we absolutely love this idea and plan on leveraging Insquad in the future!

  70. 1

Late to the party (sorry!) but love this idea!

  71. 1

    I got 67% on Swift quiz :).

There is a bug in the "Looking for a job? Apply here" link, it redirects to dev insquad but the URL to track the referrer (utm) is not correctly encoded causing a browsing error (if you remove the rest of the URL it works)

  72. 1

    Looks great! Congrats Rinat!

  73. 1

    It's so GOOD .. Congrats!

  74. 1

    Nice platform. Best of luck!

  75. 1

We are building Vaunt.dev โ€“ A community recognition platform for developers that organizations can drive and highlight developer contributions, while developers can showcase their skills and accomplishments. This may be helpful to open-source project on Github!

  76. 1

Good platform. Can you share about vision while create this product?

  77. 1

Congratulations! Design looks clean! Best of luck!

  78. 1

    Looks cool :)
    Best of luck

  79. 1

Best of luck for your startup.

  80. 1

    Congratz, have a successful year

  81. 1

Love the platform. Just a question, is it only for developers or other specialists are welcome too?

  82. 1

    Great Job. Love the website

  83. 1

    Hi Rinat,

Really like your website but its looking a little broken on iphone 12, You should get the responsie design checked.

Also page is too long for mobile , it can be improved. Maybe get a animated video done from fiverr for explaining the product better.

Let me know if you want me to provide more feedback.

    Thanks,
    Ishan

  84. 1

Love the website, I might try it out .. ;)

  85. 1

    I LOVE the website design!

  86. 1

The website is really nice, great job.

  87. 1

I will definitely support this platform by giving feedback and by voting for it. It's really important to support new platforms especially the ones that are trying to make a change in the world. I think this platform can bring a lot of value to developers and startups, and I hope to see it grow and succeed in the future.

  91. 1

    Wow, congrats! Really interesting.

  92. 1

Looks cool! Are there any checks of dev's experience ?

  93. 1

Hey Rinat, nice UI design and a very smooth platform. Share your story at [email protected] so I can publish it on my platform I also write for https://saastoday.co

  94. 1

It's a definitely great way to help connect with developers.

  95. 1

    Good idea!

  96. 1

    What about YouTeam?

  97. 1

This is an interesting idea but you should also provide some website where your activity is clearly explained, also the "pay in crypto" part doesn't sound very sexy to me. I would largely prefer PayPal or Stripe.

  98. 1

    Rแบฅt hay

  99. 1

This is a great idea. I feel like a lot of dev shops are structured for working on existing products. Developing a new product requires a different, more scrappy approach.

  100. 1

this is nice idea all the best Rinat

  101. 1

Hmmm I don't see their rates. Which is crucial. A $35/h developer and $70/h are sometimes pretty much the same in terms of the value (code) they deliver.

  102. 1

Hey Rinat . I just recently listened to a indiehackers podcast about a developer-hiring-platform. Maybe it has interesting content for you. It's indie hacker podcast session #264
the startup is from Eric turner. Maybe worthwhile reaching out to him ? Best of luck https://podcasts.google.com/feed/aHR0cHM6Ly9mZWVkcy50cmFuc2lzdG9yLmZtL3RoZS1pbmRpZS1oYWNrZXJzLXBvZGNhc3Q/episode/NWExNWZhNmEtYTE4NC00NzI5LWIzYjItNmI4YjZjNThjNWQw?ep=14

  103. 1

Congrats on the launch, Rinat. Just checked out your website. Looks like a great place to hire developers who can get up and running fast. All the best!

  104. 1

Honestly, I'd love to be able to use insquad for hiring in the future but I kinda want to go through the vetting process myself as a developer just to see how I fare... I wouldn't want to waste your time though. ๐Ÿคช. Love the idea and the site looks great!

  105. 1

This looks awesome, congrats on the launch!

  106. 1

Congrats on the lunch! A bit belated upvote :)

  107. 1

Not a bad idea, who would you say are your biggest competitors though?

    1. 1

This comment was deleted 3 years ago.

  108. 1

Quite interesting. I think we have a crazy high demand for dev in blockchain or web3 now. Also love the main homepage. Very clear in what you're doing!

  109. 1

UI is cool, all the best. Seems I may offload some work there. Having said that footer links as "How to hire", "Find developer by skill", Find developer by domain" is not active. Hope you have noticed it.

  110. 1

    nice initiative

  111. 1

    Excellent, on my way!

  112. 1

    this looks quite interesting

  113. 1

Would definitely, give it a try!

  114. 1

    the design looks sick !

  115. 1

This looks really interesting but as a non-technical founder on my first startup I'm not even sure what skills to look for when hiring a developer so maybe a learning section would be helpful. I do like that all the developers have been vetted.

    1. 1

what do you want to build? do you have main features defined more or less ?
start a new post and invite senior developers and architects that have no conflict of interest in helping you. Don't let someone sell you on a tech stack so that you contract them.
Many of us are busy building our own thing or working full time but we could share our experience

      1. 1

Itโ€™s an iOS app and then if it gets traction an Android version and then a web version. I would categorize as a niche utility app with the main features being saving user data to the cloud and filtering and visualizing (graphing) large data sets.

        1. 1

          the options are like this:

          1. React Native: fastest development , lowest performance (in terms of CPU/ GPU for animations, heavy computations)
          2. Flutter: middle in terms of development speed, middle performance
          3. Actual native iOS- Swift: slowest to develop, highest performance

Since you are in product market fit/ MVP stage I suppose the choicer are really 1 or 2.
Regarding speed of development and performance tradeoff : usually non tech people underestimate how much speed of development matters, and how slow development actually is (even when you choose the fastest option).
In terms of performance for the needs you described just displaying data/graphs etc you will not feel at all the difference between the options.

        2. 1

how much have you nailed product market fit? what are the chances your product is needed? what are the chances your product/features will change a lot in the beginning?

          1. 1

Thanks for the summary of the development options, that was really helpful! I have done some initial product vetting via forum searches in this category and confirmed there is a market for it. There are already some apps in the app store that my app would directly compete against but based on the number of ratings and reviews I think there is much room for improvement hence my app. I probably need to do more vetting in terms of market size and specific features, but the main feature would be the filtering and graphing of the data.

            1. 1

we could jump in a call if you want and we can talk more stuff faster

    Looks interesting!
Hiring is always a pain :(

  117. 1

This looks so amazing. Its wonderful for developers who are looking for new opportunities

  118. 1

I see it's for mostly vetting SENIOR developer talents spread all over the continent, what about mid-level devs that can grow with the team?

  119. 1

Let's work together, I am also starting a business, an AI-powered logo design maker platform that creates logos in minutes. The company focuses on empowering startups and small businesses in creating their own logo design and branding packages for prospects and consumers to remember.(www.instantlogodesign.com)

  120. 1

this is awesome. as a developer looking for a role in a startup, this is perfect for me.

  121. 1

    Blimey, That's amazing

  122. 1

Great idea! In the Find Developer By Skill section you may want to eventually add categories outside of just language familiarity, like DevOps/Sysadmin, Databases, Security, etc.

  123. 1

    Awesome is this like indeed.com?

  124. 1

    Looks great! Good luck ๐Ÿคž

  125. 1

Sounds very useful! Finding developers through other freelancing platforms is a hit or miss. Since you curating for quality, I see a lot of time saved for aspiring startups.

  126. 1

Great initiative ! developers has become a very important part of organizations and they deserve a great platform.

  127. 1
