UPDATE 26-OCT-2020: we're not accepting anymore projects thanks for all of you who submitted their projects
We're a small app development agency that are currently in between two contracts and would like to explore building an MVP while we have the extra time on our hands:
About Us
- we have build multiple mvps before (some enterprise grade stuff also that we cannot disclose)
- we're 3
- 2 of us are senior full-stack dev that have been working together since 5 years
- 1 of us is a junior dev
- we helped an indie hacker develop knockhq.
- we also do ideation workshops
- we know how to build mobile & web apps (and we've build some under 4 weeks)
About You
What we're looking for (even though they're not all must-haves):
- we would favour projects that aim at social good
- we would favour someone who has previous experience in building things from the ground up
- someone who recognises us as partners - not code monkeys
If you're interesting in having an entire product team to help you for a month.
You can answer the following questions below:
- What's your one line pitch?
- What problem are you solving and who is it for?
- How are people solving the problem your app solve today?
- What's your biggest obstacle?
- What's your riskiest assumption?

Any particular reason you're offering this for free?
Yes. As part of our company culture we see everything as an investment not just money but also our time. Sometimes, you need to do crazy things to get crazy results.
The investment portfolio analogy:
E.g.
if you take your overall revenue and let's say you put 10% in very-high risk investment such as bitcoin and larger percentages into low-yielding ETFs.
You can benefit both from the extremely high volatility of bitcoin without incurring the big risks and continue to generate revenue through reliable sources such as ETFs.
This is, in my opinion, a super good argument as to why you should try crazy experiments every once in a while. (given you're able to generate stable revenue through more classical sources)
That's a fair reason even if a bit unorthodox. In that case, I'd like to see what you'd have to offer:
CadenceIQ is a sales engagement tool that uses NLP to understand the makeup of high-performing sales outreach messages that get positive replies
About 80% of SDRs in a sales team spend hours writing cold emails and cold call scripts and most of them are terrible templates that sound like spam and get ignored at best or negative responses at worst. Yet, there will be a small number of SDRs in a team that is always setting demo's and getting great responses from a prospect.
At CadenceIQ, we are using natural language to analyze these high-performing sales messages to understand why they work so that the rest of the sales team can apply the same structure and start sending better emails and calls leading to happier customer experiences.
This is currently being solved by manually parsing through email templates and call scripts. Usually, the sales team spends a few hours every day during a standup where the team lead will analyze campaigns and messages individually and try to find out the reason for successful outreach. It is currently highly time-intensive.
Our biggest obstacle is the frontend development and UI/UX for some of the core features (like tone and emotion analysis as well as advanced dashboarding)
Our riskiest assumption is that this is something that requires a full platform and not just a chrome extension on top of Salesforce
We have 3 people on the founding team including me. One of the founders is a backend developer whos building the product on the MERN stack. I have 4 years of experience in marketing and sales while my other co-founder has 2 years in sales and customer success.
Hey!
Pitch: Poise creates podcasts from existing content. https://getpoise.co.uk
Problem: Making it easy for publishers to repupose their content into audio, to reach a larger audience.
How are people solving this today: Hire narrators, then string together a number of disperate services (narration, hosting, distribution, promotion).
Biggest obstacle: I'm a non technical founder, so there is that :) But otherwise, I from the publishers side, it's easier for them not to do this, or to think it's too expensive/complex to bother.
Riskiest assumption: That publishers are willing to reguarly pay for narration
Domain expertise: I founded Poise because I love listening to audio content & wanted to see more content available as audio.
...
I think it's great that your team is offering it's help. I'm a senior PM so I would be easy to work with :)
Thanks,
Andy

Hi Ben,
I'm currently working on the following project and I'm looking for potential developers for hire or preferably a CTO as my savings are not huge and this will be completely bootstrapped.
A plant-based meal planner designed to help busy individuals reach their health & fitness goals by automating the process using a science-based approach. - qtnutrition(dot)app
I have been working on this idea on and off for the last 3 years (design, market research, product validation etc) but have recently decided to take the plunge and try to make it happen by utilizing my business skills I have learned over the last 4 years of running a construction company and various skills I have learned during my college studies on computer networking.
In fact, it is because I started a company that I realised a service such as this app is necessary and there are other people out there who can benefit from this. After spending 10-12 hours / 6 days a week on my construction business I was left with very minimal time to actually plan and prepare my meals according to my nutritional targets, in turn I had to stop exercising as well due to the decrees in energy levels and recovery due to my new poorly optimised nutrition. I am passionate about calisthenics and have been an enthusiast since 2016, not being able to train and plan my nutrition has had an impact on my quality of life and this is the reason I have decided to pivot from the construction industry.
People solve the problem today by purchasing personalised nutrition plans from online coaches, having a personal trainer, manually planning meals or utilising other online meal planners. The issue with a lot of the online meal planners out there is that they do not give you a personalised approach or are not very user friendly.
As we discover the complex mechanisms of our body and how nutrition is so interlinked with our biochemistry, it’s only natural that the paradigms shift. There are a lot of health benefits to the plant-based way of eating as well as environmental benefits in order to tackle climate change.
My biggest obstacle in making this a reality is not having the technical skills required to code the project myself or have a huge budget to hire a developer team. I would have preferred to have a CTO as hiring a dev team for a tech start-up is not the best business decision, however, I am willing to take the risk.
Let me know if this is something you would be interested on working on.
Best Regards,
Mario Penchev
can you send this here again contact@prologe.io (can't seem to find your dm info on indie hackers)
Sorry, the notification seemed to have got buried in my emails. I am now working with someone though, thanks for the consideration.
Pitch - A social network that values users' time.
Problem - People spend unholy amounts of time on social networks because these networks are designed to operate that way. Trying to solve the problem by changing the incentives.
Who is it for - People who have recognized that social media is great but the time spent is mostly spend on noise and not signal.
Current Solution - Willpower & Chrome Extensions (Works for some but not for many)
Biggest Obstacle - Lack of time. I am a designer who can code but it'd just take long to get to the final product.
Riskiest Assumption - People value their time and are ready to pay a little when someone gives back their time.
Domain Expertise - If you count having wasted countless hours on social media, sure I am an expert. Building in the domain - not yet. I have built a couple of consumer focused web apps and work at a consumer facing startup.
I can tell you more if you are interested.
Hi Ben - interesting offer!
We're actually looking for a strong product/development partner for a 1 month sprint as we replatform our SaaS product from Golang to JavaScript.
Shooting you an email now.
