Howdy IH'ers! I've been bootstrapping since 2016, recently hit 200k MRR between two products, and excited to launch a 4th SaaS business... Churnkey! I am very excited about it.
We want to help other SaaS founders reduce their churn. Before we talk about it, some backstory:
@nickfogle, @robmoore, and I have been busting our asses trying to reduce Wavve's churn over the last two years. At 125k MRR with 10%+ monthly revenue churn, every single percentage point counts. We have done it all (I think):
Out of all of the tactics we have focused on, improving our offboarding flow has provided the clearest ROI for our efforts.
We did this by adding the ability to survey users as they canceled, deliver dynamic deals based on answers, allow for pausing, customer support integrations, and in-depth reporting.
With these changes to our offboarding flow, we reduced our churn rate by 15%.
Sensing we were onto something, we kept experimenting, building more sophisticated offboarding and retention tools. Over the course of six months, we brought churn down by another 30% and saved $25,000 in ARR!
