3,000 app users in 20 days with no paid ads

I launched an app in the app store in December called ChartBot.

After launching the app, I was posting content on Facebook groups on a daily basis and was trickling in new users. From December to March, I got up to about 500 users from that strategy.

On April 6th, I made a tutorial video using the app and uploaded it to TikTok. Since that post, I've been averaging about 100 new users per day and went from 500 users to 3080 users in only about 20 days.

The video has 60K views and is still growing. I'm getting ready to post a few more to reach my yearly goal of 10K.

Moral of the story, TikTok has an insane conversion rate if you can figure out how to make content native to the platform. You need to get to 1,000 followers before you can add a link to your bio.

If you want to check out my app, search for ChartBot - Stock Screener in the app store.

Much thanks for inspoiration mate! Glad to hear, that somebody did it and broke the wall! We now are stuck with MetaSurvey to get new users, I also wrote an article in IH Growth.

How much paying users did you get from that users from TikTok? (Or what was the percentage of paing customers from that 2580 new ones?)

Hey! Thanks, for reaching out. We've got about 90 paying subscribers since using this tiktok strategy, but the app was free up until May 5th, 2020 which is when we launched our subscription features.

What are your thoughts on TikTok for BtoB?

    Congrats!
Regarding the Facebook groups strategy, where you posting content from your personal account or your app account? Also, is there a way to not look spammy? Thanks!

    1. 1

I used both accounts! The way to post without being spammy is posting relevant and actual native content to the groups. So, in this case, ChartBot is a stock trading app, so I post pictures of stock charts and market data that adds value to the group and that's what most of the other posts in the groups are as well ( I always tag the Facebook page as a source/reference) You can also post actual links in the comments with an answer to someone's post and they will thank you for sharing. Hope this helps!

follow me on tiktok at @robwoodworth most of my videos are using this strategy, the video this is referencing has the highest amount of views right now. Also, the app link is here: https://apple.co/2QoJmui

can you share any details about the video itself? did it have quick cuts? was it an entertainment piece? or was it literally just you giving a tutorial?

How are people redirecting to your app if you can't link in bio?

    1. 1

follow me on tiktok @robwoodworth to see the videos i used they are mostly educational/tutorials. I was able to add the link in my bio once i got to 1K followers. But if you follow the formula i used, most people will likely find your product through search anyway.
