App to prioritize new feature requests effectively (added Balsamiq wireframe designs too)

While working on my current side-project Changelogg.io, I was having difficulties in prioritizing upcoming features. Which feature are the users expecting the most? Are there any new requests I am missing due to the communication gap? Is my priority right in distributing my work time?

In a demo call, someone asked me to give a trello or github project link so that I could add their feature requests there or they send their requests via mail or twitter message. I found this process a little inconvenient and got this new idea. Before this, I always used to jump the gun and start working on the idea without validating it correctly but this time, I want to do a thorough case study on whether the app is worth pursuing forward or not.

What problem is it trying to solve? Why this problem?:

To get user's feedback about the app's progress and to deliver things that matter to them first as fast as we can. Many times, we order priorities by intuition or asking the small subset of the audience. The objective is to optimize that flow and we will be able to focus team's path in the right direction. A team can be in constant touch with the users without sending them long email threads every time. Interested users can be kept notified regarding the feature's progress which will result in increasing users' engagement.

Proposed solution:

  • App to prioritize all feature requests effectively.
  • With this app integrated with your project, the user will be able to add new feature requests and upvote on existing ones to notify their interests.
  • It will be an easy-to-integrate app like getbeamer, drift, chapport, etc.

Flow:

  • A user adds a new request and that request is sent for approval to the team
  • The team will review the request and add it to the tab
  • Users can scroll the existing list and upvote the features which they think are important

What do you think? What do you currently use to prioritize feature requests? Would anyone be interested to try such an app? or Am I barking up the wrong tree?

Im also building a new project and needed a feature upvote section. I searched online for existing solutions. Some were ok but pricing was mostly too high imo at around 10 bucks / month.

I built a quick upvoteable list and for written feedback or new suggestions I just link to my chat widget tidio. The website isn't done yet but you can check it out here: https://fireful.io (you need to scroll down a bit to reach it)

That's looking pretty cool! I had something exactly similar in mind with an admin dashboard for the team. What don't you like about the solutions you have tried, other than the price?

        Thanks!

They weren't so easy to connect users, the designs weren't easy to tweak to match the style of my website, and functionality was either too much or too little.

I liked one, forgot the name, but it had a nice feature where you could add comments with your vote and choose between options such as not so important, critical etc.

I also added an extra checkbox to upvoters asking if they would consider paying, i didn't find this function in any of the services I checked out.

Finally, I think I might have considered a service with an api for voting, getting the number of votes etc so I could rely on the data from the service, but could implement a custom design and just provide the user ID & info. With a full service it's too much to login to another panel to check feedback, along with all the other widgets you already need to implement like chat, analytics, etc...

Thanks for the insights! These are great points I will check out more on that @isokosan :D
Really liked the option of giving API endpoints as a service too so that they could integrate with their custom UI

Hello. You guys are definitely on to something.

We are building an MVP and ran across Canny.io. We would love to use something like this to have users submit feedback and feature requests.

How could we incorporate Fireful for the iOS app?

          1. 2

Are you looking for the firebase content management app or the feedback part on the website we are discussing about? Fireful is the former, the latter is the part we are discussing the feature requests about, which @slothkelsier the op posted about.

Oh. Maybe I got my wires crossed.

I meant to talk about the feature request app. I think it would be an excellent alternative for lean startups.

I am currently in the process of building an MVP for it. If this interests you, I would love to connect and discuss more on how it can be integrated with your product.

We would want our users to navigate to our Settings page and then tap Feedback.

The app would open a webpage to your service or private-labeled page where people can view, submit, and vote on feature requests.

I can be reached via email in my profile if you have more questions or want to discuss further.

Hi @elijahk4! I was trying to send a mail regarding this but Gmail threw me an error when I tried the mentioned email Id from your profile. Can you please let me know your email Id? I tried 'hello@karimjoint.com'

                      My mistake. It's 'hello@karimijoint.com'
