Developer looking for community building/marketing cofounder for an Open Source application

Hey!

I'm a German full stack Developer, currently working on a idea for a desktop app. I've built and launched a couple of different products and tools in the past. Some of them got acquired, some of them are still running as side projects, some of them turned out to be not so interesting and got abandoned. To get an overview, check out https://gebauer.dev/

The idea I'm currently working on is a desktop app for developers. The idea is validated and there is a market for it. There's one competing product that has been around for quite some time but I think there's room for more.

The app is going to be Open Sourced, probably with a paid, subscription based, business model. I'm looking for someone who joins me on the marketing/community building side of things once the app is ready to go live.

Ideally, I'm looking for someone who:

  • Has some experience in coding. The language/tech stack doesn't matter, you just need a general idea.
  • Loves open source!
  • Is good at reaching out to other people to discuss cooperations, integrations or to partner up.
  • Loves to write! Blogposts, articles, guides, HowTos etc.
  • Has a passion for hanging out in issue trackers and chats to help people out.

I'm basically looking for someone who would love to manage a community while growing the product at the same time. I have a pretty good idea on the steps to take to grow it (I have done something similar in the past). But, in order to be successful, I think the amount of work is best split between two people.

Happy to chat with anyone who has a passion for this! :)

Email works best for me, check out my bio or the website linked above.

Happy to hear from you!
