First landing page (nervous xD) Feedback would be awesome :)

Hey guys,

I am validating my first product idea. I have completed building the landing page.

Here is the link:

I'm looking forward to getting feedback about the design, bugs/issues, or any suggestions for improvement.

Thanks 🙌

Hey Youssef, I wanted to give you a couple of suggestions too if you're going to revise the copy.

-Is setric lowercase? It reads a bit strange in the first paragraph without a capital letter. Maybe you should just make it bold so it stands out?
-I would recommend replacing the "that" in "Let setric match you with engineers that can transform..." with "who". It feels more respectful. You don't want to antagonize developers either.
-You're not being consistent with the usage of capital letters in your titles. Sometimes you capitalize each word, sometimes you don't. It'd be great to do one thing or the other all the way through.
-"Sign up" should be two words

I think these are minor details but of importance, since you mention applicants must communicate in English well. Your copy must be perfect if you want to be credible. Have you thought about asking a copywriter for proofreading? I can suggest one if you're interested (that's not me by the way, I'm a designer & brand strategist).

    I hope this helps!

      Thanks for the feedback!

Really liked your design. There are few typos (breif -> brief, requirments -> requirements) you may want to fix. Why do you need to emphasize language and communication testing? Will your target customers be looking for (cheaper) remote workers? Also, how does vetting work?

Are you going to be able to come up with language & comms + skill testing plan for all types of jobs? Did you consider focusing on a narrower application pool (e.g. frontend devs, warehouse workers, ..)?

I agree with @MateUzsoki's comment below; I wasn't sure how to read the hero img :)

Thanks a lot Selman for the feedback! I am pushing the typo fixed version now. Yes my target audience are people that are on a budget and are hiring from platforms like Upwork, Fiverr, freelancer.com. So I am trying to reduce their risk as much as possible of making a bad hire while they can save money. I will be using a 3rd party platform for the skills testing. Like Toptal uses Codility in their screening process but I will be using a cheaper option without compromising much on quality.

Do you think the hero img is offensive in any way?

      1. 1

I see. It wasn't super clear to me that this was targeted against people on a budget. I have been using upwork.com and hired a bunch of freelancers so far, so I can see lowering the risk being a value prop. You may want to emphasize that more.

Nope, I didn't find it offensive though I tried hard to understand what they are doing, and still don't have a clue :D Is the person sitting a boss and the other one a servant massaging boss' head? :P

        1. 2

But I am not really sure what to write to target people that are on a budget without being offensive to the freelancers that they are hiring.

        2. 1

Yes, that's a good point. I will try to redo/reshuffle some stuff to make that point clear, thanks. Hahahah, it's like one cave like person is vetting or like searching another cave person.

  3. 2

I think it's a good landing page. I went through it and it was pretty clear to me what the concept was.

One thought: do you work internationally or does your target audience have to be in a certain country?

An more thing: I'm not sure about the first picture. :-)

    1. 1

Thank you for the feedback! And yes, I work internationally. Haha if you mean the picture with the cave man, I was hoping people wouldn't get the wrong idea.

  4. 2

Very clean design, I understand clearly what you're doing.
Maybe one little suggestion: try to clarify a bit the sub-hero section. It's too long, I had to read it 2-3 times before actually understanding the value prop

    1. 1

Thank you Xavier for taking the time. So you mean like less text on the sub-hero section?

      1. 2

Yep, I try to apply 5 to 10 words for the hero, 10 to 15 for the sub. Less is more!

    Hey

Like the design and logo's it's really informative about the product you provide and how it works kudos!

An additional thought, you could offer some kind of vetting around finding a good fit to match the companies culture, from my experience Its not all about hard skills personality is very important.

  6. 1

Consider adding some social proof of companies using your service, if you have any already.

It's nice visually, but needs more content and info for companies to trust you. But that's just a guess.

Did you talk with people in your target group about the site?

    1. 1

Thank you for your feedback! Yeah, that's a cool idea. But for now, I am just validating the product idea. I have no actual product yet. I will be building the MVP as soon as I validate the product idea successfully.

Did you talk with people in your target group about the site? : I have it on product hunt, on my personal twitter, LinkedIn and some Facebook groups. But I am getting a few sign-ups. So to answer your question, no I didn't speak like privately with my target audience.

And I am not sure why I am not getting any subscriptions on Product hunt -> https://www.producthunt.com/upcoming/setric/ haha is it even visible to people :P ?
