Hello indie hackers,
Lately I've been working on my startup Affistash.com, and in the last couple of days, while my co-founder was handling the product development side, I started looking on how we could get some people to register for our pre-launch email list.
I found a pretty simple strategy that got me some interesting results, so I thought about sharing it with you : )
Since our target audience are beginner/intermediate affiliate marketers, I knew that my go-to platform would be TikTok, so I started to search for really popular videos on that topic and I navigated to the comment section of the video. Therefore, I started answering people's questions regarding affiliate marketing, while also plugin my startup in the comments.
This resulted some great feedback from the people I replied to, lots of them were liking my comment and even replying back, while some of them even registered to the website.
Stats:
10-20 comments/day
50 users registered for early access
8 discord community members
7 days spent
Let me know what you guys think bout it, and also if you have any funnels I should try for Affistash, I'm really curious to hear them ;)
Cheers!
It's an interesting approach. Thanks for sharing it, @VicDevelopmently.
I'm surprised that it worked even though the comment you posted looks pretty promotional. Helpful though, and that seams to me the point. I like it and will try to replicate your process.
To find early users, you could also try https://betapage.co/, https://www.betafy.co/, or https://betalist.com/. And since your approach works in general, why not try it outside of TikTok in groups talking about affiliate marketing. Think LinkedIn groups, Facebook groups, Discord communities, Slack communities, ...
We'll definitely try those out when we launch, but since we are still in our pre-registration phase, so our product is not ready yet, we didn't start publishing it on websites like those. We'll be on producthunt tho xD
Also, thanks for the recommendations!
Interesting. i never thought of this
Glad you found it interesting, I hope it helps!
Definitely I will try your method. I have an idea/project in progress and I need some early users to get some feedback about the features and platform. Thanks for sharing!
