Stand-Up #91 - May 8th, 2020

Stand-Up #91 - May 8th, 2020

One more day of nothing and I'll get back on it tomorrow. I badly needed this break. IDK why I've been putting so much pressure on myself to work work work, but giving myself permission to step back and take a break has made a huge difference in my mood and overall well-being.

It's not like I'm in a race against you all. Although at times I have convinced myself that I am, but I try to undo those thoughts because they aren't productive. The only person I'm competing with here is myself. Each day I try to be a little better. I actually managed to cut out coffee over the course of the last week and I've been sleeping much better and digesting meals much better because of it. So there's my little win for the last 7 days.

Yesterday's progress:

  • zero, zip, zilch, nada, absolutely nothing

Today's progress:

  • Nothing again. A nice break. Second day off in 91 days.

Tomorrow's progress:

  • finish porting over the JSON schema, it's definitely more verbose than the Mongoose schemas

No screenshot today because I can't screenshot what I didn't do 😎

EDIT: Whoops, I had this post listed as the 7th but it was really the 8th. Updated now.

Hey Jack, Your work ethic is inspiring, I really hope that you keep up with these daily reports. I need to work as hard over the next 2 months as you have over the last 3. Keep these reports coming, keep working.

I appreciate the encouragement, thank you! I always try to do at least a little bit each day, even if I'm not really feeling it. Slow and steady will hopefully win the race. You can do it too!

I think it's totally fine to take some time off. I was cycling, running and spending time with my parents today and not just working!
